Title: Mind If I Join?

“Stop! Attacking others with magic without self-defense as a reason isn’t just against school rules—it’s a criminal act.”

“I’m the Disciplinary Committee Chair, Watanabe Mari.”

“I’ll now investigate the true situation of this matter. All of you, come with me.”

Mari and Mayumi walked forward slowly, their hands already resting on their respective CADs.

If anyone tried to resist, they wouldn’t hesitate to activate their magic to suppress the situation.

Everyone present fell silent, even the usually arrogant Shun no longer seemed intent on finding the person who had attacked him with the Psion mass.

In his subconscious, he knew it must have been one of these two who stopped them, so there was no need to search further.

Meanwhile, the instigator of the incident, Kousen, was observing something far more intriguing to him with keen interest.

(It seems that’s Shiba Miyuki’s older brother. He doesn’t seem as ordinary as the rumors suggest?)

(But his Psion count is indeed only at the level of a Second Course student.)

(So what’s with this faint sense of threat?)

The magic Kousen created at age ten, [Illusion-Piercing Eyes].

As long as a magician’s power was equal to or below his, they couldn’t escape the scrutiny of his Illusion-Piercing Eyes. While his Illusion-Piercing Eyes didn’t have the terrifying ability to directly see what magic an opponent was using, they could fully observe the opponent’s current Psion count and analyze the programming during their magic activation.

Naturally, he didn’t expect Shiba Tatsuya to evade his Illusion-Piercing Eyes.

Tatsuya’s brows furrowed slightly; he had felt a gaze spying on him for a while.

Initially, he planned to back down to resolve the issue, but seeing his younger sister’s slightly anxious expression, he sighed softly. He couldn’t bear to see her unhappy or sad—after all, that was the only emotion left in his heart.

“Sorry, we got a bit carried away.”

Tatsuya stepped out from beside his sister, facing everyone’s gazes.

“Hm?”

He noticed that as soon as he spoke, the spying gaze seemed to vanish.

But this wasn’t the time to dwell on it.

“Carried away? Are you kidding me?”

Mari said with a half-smile, though her expression showed she was far from amused.

“Yes, we suddenly wanted to see the [Execution Speed] passed down by the Morisaki family. It was just too realistic, so we accidentally attacked.”

Everyone present fell silent.

Kousen rarely stunned, had clearly seen several male students in the back preparing to activate their magic.

The short-haired redhead girl behind Miyuki, holding a police-baton-shaped CAD, also seemed ready to charge and strike.

(Didn’t expect Shiba Tatsuya to so blatantly tell such an easily debunked lie?)

Kousen felt he’d learned something new.

Clearly, Mari had no intention of believing Tatsuya’s nonsense.

Did he think her eyes were blind?

“Then what about the offensive magic activated by the red-haired girl beside you?”

“That was just self-acceleration magic. Erika didn’t attach any offensive magic to her CAD.”

Tatsuya spouted nonsense with a straight face.

If Kousen hadn’t used his Illusion-Piercing Eyes and seen Erika instantly charge Psions into her police baton, he might have believed it too.

“It seems you can see the magic activated by a CAD.”

“I’m not skilled in practical application, but I’m good at analysis. After all, I’m just a Second Course student.” Tatsuya pointed to his chest seriously.

(No, that’s not ordinary at all.)

Kousen felt the urge to grumble for the first time in his life. And everyone else there, why were they acting like this was normal?

Hadn’t they read their books? At least he had never heard of anyone else besides himself with such an ability.

What did this ability mean? It meant that once you activated magic, your opponent would know exactly what magic you were using, allowing them to counter it or seize an opportunity based on your magic.

At that moment, Miyuki standing behind Tatsuya, stepped forward, her hands clasped in front of her stomach, bowing deeply to Mari and Mayumi.

“Sorry, this was truly just a misunderstanding.”

“My apologies for troubling the seniors.”

Miyuki’s sincere apology made even the authoritative Mari glance at her, a slight urge to let them off stirring in her heart.

“Mari, let it go!”

“Shiba-kun, you’re sure you were just watching, right?”

Mayumi stepped between them, winking at Mari.

Tatsuya seized the opportunity.

“Exactly, that’s how it was.”

“Ugh.”

Mari rubbed her furrowed brows and spoke in a lecturing tone.

“Since the president has spoken, I’ll let it slide this time. But this must never happen again, understood?”

Everyone present straightened up, showing they understood, and watched as Mari and Mayumi walked away.

After a few steps, Mari suddenly stopped. Without turning, she asked in a slightly cold tone, “What’s your name?”

“Class 1-E, Shiba Tatsuya.”

Kousen followed Mayumi and Mari at a short distance.

Suddenly, he stopped walking. Mayumi looked at him, confused. “What’s wrong, Kousen-kun? Not coming?”

“Anyway, Senpai, I was planning to head straight home. Why should I follow you back?”

“Good point!” Mari said, feigning surprise.

“Then see you tomorrow noon at the Student Council room! You’ll officially join the Student Council, so we need to get to know each other.”

Mayumi nodded, pulling a magnetic card from her bag and handing it to Kousen.

“This is the key to the Student Council room. You haven’t recorded your fingerprint yet. If you arrive early tomorrow, use this magnetic card to get in!”

Kousen took the card, slipped it into his pocket, and after bidding farewell to both, headed toward the school gate.

“Want to go to a café together and chat?” Said Mitsui Honoka.

“Mind if I join?”

Kousen, who happened to be walking behind the group, gave a faint smile.
