Title: Show Your Talent Fully

“Not in the same class as Shiba Miyuki. What a pity.” Kousen sat in the classroom, bored, looking at the now-empty room.

Initially, Kousen had hoped to be in the same class as Miyuki, thinking it would give him a chance to observe which of the Ten Master Clans she belonged to.

However, reality didn’t match his expectations. Miyuki was in Class A, while he was in Class C.

But there was nothing he could do—who told him to perform poorly on the entrance exam?

“Kou-kun, sorry for making you wait again!”

Of course, there was a reason he was still sitting in the empty classroom after school.

“Saegusa-senpai, isn’t it a bit inappropriate for just the two of us to be sitting here?”

Kousen genuinely didn’t understand. There were so many places to have a conversation. Even going to a café outside would do, but he couldn’t fathom why Mayumi had dragged him here.

In the rectangular room, there was only a small bench, just big enough for two people to sit snugly.

Their bodies were practically glued together, so close.

The unique fragrance of a girl wafted into Kousen’s nose.

“Besides, if you’re so shy, don’t pick a place like this!”

Mayumi’s flushed face hadn’t faded since she sat down next to Kousen.

Kousen wasn’t a native of this world, where even holding hands could make someone blush for half a day.

But judging by Mayumi’s demeanor, Kousen didn’t think she was particularly open-minded.

“Kou-kun, I came to find you to invite you to join the Student Council.”

Mayumi spoke with her face still red.

(But your voice is so soft it’s practically a whisper!)

Kousen grumbled inwardly. Thankfully, as a magician, his hearing was sharp enough.

If an ordinary person were listening, they’d probably only hear the buzz of a mosquito.

“Join the Student Council?”

“Isn’t the annual quota for Student Council members reserved for the freshman representative? What does that have to do with me?”

Kousen leaned forward slightly, trying to avoid brushing against Mayumi to prevent any misunderstandings.

After all, he felt that if they kept sitting so close, Mayumi might blush until she exploded!

Kousen’s movement also caused the flush on Mayumi’s face to gradually fade, and she returned to her usual graceful demeanor.

“That was the original plan.”

Mayumi twirled a strand of hair at her temple, playing with it between her fingertips.

“The original plan?”

“Yes, but it seems the principal mentioned Kousen-kun during today’s staff meeting.”

(My nickname changed again!)

Kousen sighed inwardly, but he wasn’t one to fuss over such things. What mattered now was listening to Mayumi continue.

“And then, with the unanimous approval of the teachers, they granted you a spot to join the Student Council!”

“Don’t mess with me, Senpai.”

“There’s some influence from the Ten Master Clans behind this, isn’t there?”

This time, Kousen openly grumbled.

“Oh! Caught me!”

Mayumi stuck out her little tongue, pretending to be cute.

“It was Juumonji-kun who spoke to the principal about this! Of course, there was also authorization from the Ten Master Clans.”

“Although the principal was initially hesitant, after seeing your entrance exam results, he immediately agreed!”

Though it was an unwritten rule, when attending Magic High School, if there was a member of the Ten Master Clans in the same year, they were expected to be the freshman representative.

This was also to maintain the Ten Master Clans’ position in Japan’s magic world, just as the third-year Student Council president was Mayumi, and the current first-year Student Council president at Third High was Ichijou Masaki.

Although Kousen wasn’t particularly interested in the freshman representative position, everyone had long assumed he would be the freshman representative for First High’s current cohort.

However, due to an unexpected incident, he didn’t complete his exam, and the freshman representative role went to Miyuki, who wasn’t from the Ten Master Clans. This was likely already a topic of discussion among the Ten Master Clans!

“So, what’s Principal Momoyama’s condition? Even with pressure from the Master Clans, I doubt Principal Momoyama is someone who compromises easily.”

Kousen didn’t believe that pressure from the Master Clans alone was enough to make Principal Momoyama yield.

“Kousen-kun is so perceptive!”

Mayumi praised him with admiration before continuing.

“The principal hopes that Kousen-kun will fully showcase your talent at the Nine Schools Competition and bring honor to First High.”

“Of course, this is also a sentiment shared by the Master Clans.”

“Silencing the doubters!”

Kousen showed no trace of surprise. By demonstrating his strength later, he could shut down those who suspected he’d gotten in through the back door.

After all, Japan’s magic world was already rife with dissatisfaction toward the Ten Master Clans’ dominance. Though they didn’t dare voice it openly, it was certainly happening in private.

The principal of First High changing the rules for him, along with the Ten Master Clans’ involvement, would also face a new wave of public opinion pressure.

“That’s only natural. I’ll definitely give my all and secure victory,” Kousen said without hesitation.

“Great!”

“So, what position will I hold in the Student Council? As far as I know, there aren’t any vacant spots right now.”

“How about being my secretary?”

“When there’s work, the secretary does it. When there’s no work, the secretary gets ‘worked’.”

For some reason, a phrase that shouldn’t exist in this era popped into Kousen’s mind. He quickly shook his head and looked at Mayumi.

Mayumi was covering her mouth, smiling faintly.

“Senpai, cut it with the jokes!”

“As if there’s a secretary position like that. Besides, even if there were, I wouldn’t take it.”

Kousen shot her a mock-annoyed glance.

“Just kidding, just kidding.” Mayumi hurriedly waved her hands in apology.

“Actually, you’ll be taking the vice president position.”

“Vice president?” Kousen recalled.

“But I remember the Student Council already has a vice president. If I’m not mistaken, it’s the MC from the freshman ceremony, right?”

Mayumi extended her slender finger, tapped her lips, slightly shifted her hips, and propped herself up with her other hand.

Her pristine white school uniform skirt framed her graceful curves. She seemed to have forgotten her earlier shyness, freely displaying her slender figure to Kousen.

“About that, Juumonji-kun already spoke to me before I came.”

“You know, we’re nearing graduation. Juumonji-kun also needs to choose his successor as the next club president.”
