“What’s wrong?” Claudia noticed the subtle change in the expressions of Ark’s group and asked.
Ark remained silent. Instead, Julis spoke up directly. “What’s going on with Alicante?” Her tone carried a hint of displeasure.
Beside her, Ayato wore a similar expression, his brows tightly furrowed. Claudia immediately understood.
As the Student Council President of Seidoukan Academy, Claudia was no mere figurehead. She was well aware that before Ayato and Julis teamed up, they had been ambushed multiple times and involved in various incidents. Claudia had long since uncovered the reasons and details behind these events.
She knew that the people who orchestrated the attacks on Julis and involved Ayato were acting under orders from the Alicante Research Institute. In other words, Ayato and Julis held a grudge against Alicante.
Claudia began to explain what she knew. “As far as I’m aware, this year’s Phoenix Festa doesn’t feature any particularly strong competitors from Alicante. There aren’t even many participants who made it onto the official ranking board, let alone someone on the level of Page One.” She paused briefly before continuing, “However, there might be some unique changes to this year’s Phoenix Festa.”
Everyone except Ark was immediately intrigued.
“Unique changes?” Kirin asked with a puzzled expression.
“It’s not unusual.” Claudia explained. “The Festa is a globally recognized event, designed to capture the attention of people worldwide. To enhance its appeal, the Operational Committee often tries out new strategies to heighten the excitement.”
“Therefore, each Festa might see rule adjustments or experimental additions. If these experiments prove beneficial, they become standard in future Festas. If they cause harm, they are discarded.”
Claudia clearly had some insider information she couldn’t fully disclose.
“This time, Alicante might be the biggest beneficiary of these changes. Although they don’t have any standout participants, I advise you all not to underestimate them.”
Hearing this, Ayato and Julis frowned and fell silent.
“What about Rewolf?” Kirin asked hesitantly. “Are there any significant participants from Rewolf?”
“Of course.” Claudia nodded. “In fact, aside from Alicante, Rewolf is the academy you should be most wary of in this Phoenix Festa.”
Claudia enlarged one of the many windows on her interface. The next moment, a profile was displayed to the group.
The person depicted was a fierce-looking girl who appeared incredibly intimidating—like a mafia boss.
“Irene Urzaiz, ranked third at Rewolf Black Academy. Her title is the Bloodthirsty Vampire Princess. Among the students participating in this Phoenix Festa, she holds the highest rank, aside from Ark.”
Claudia’s voice reached everyone. “She wields an Orga Lux—the ‘Gravisheath.’ Although her rank is lower than Ark’s, if she were at Seidoukan, she would be a strong contender for the top spot.”
Claudia’s statement made everyone’s expressions turn serious.
By now, even newcomer Ayato had a decent understanding of the various academies. So, the group knew full well that Seidoukan’s overall strength was almost at the bottom compared to the other academies.
While Seidoukan might have an edge over Queenveil Girls’ Academy, whose nature limits the number of strong competitors, competing with Alicante, Saint Galahadworth Academy, Jie Long Seventh Academy, or Rewolf Black Academy was a different story.
Saint Galahadworth is a noble academy that emphasizes strict rules and chivalry, producing many exceptional swordsmen. Jie Long Seventh Academy prides itself on its martial arts culture from a young age and extensive proficiency in “Star Techniques.” making its students generally stronger. Meanwhile, Rewolf Black Academy, with its battle-focused and brutal culture, breeds highly formidable individual fighters.
In such a situation, Seidoukan’s overall strength naturally falls behind.
Irene Urzaiz, ranked third at Rewolf, is a fearsome opponent. If she were at Seidoukan, she wouldn’t be weaker than Kirin, so Claudia’s claim that she is a contender for the top rank isn’t an exaggeration.
“Gravisheath…” Julis pondered. “Is that the same Orga Lux that appeared in previous Festas?”
“Yes.” Claudia confirmed. “This weapon is unique due to its high compatibility with almost anyone. It has been wielded by many in the past and is renowned for its overwhelming power.”
“However…” Claudia glanced at the silent Ark, a faint smile forming on her face. “This weapon demands a high price for its use. If the Bloodthirsty Vampire Princess can fully harness its power, she will undoubtedly be a formidable opponent.”
The profile also revealed that Irene’s partner is her younger sister—a student who isn’t even ranked, with seemingly average abilities. Despite the handicap of her partner, Claudia still considered Irene the most dangerous competitor from Rewolf, indicating just how significant a threat she is.
As everyone grew more serious, Ark remained silent, his gaze fixed on the fierce-looking woman on the screen.
‘If I remember correctly, this woman was sent by Rewolf’s fat man specifically to counter the wielder of Ser-Veresta.’
In the original narrative, she targeted Ayato in the Phoenix Festa.
So… who is her target this time?
‘It seems I’ll have to find out for myself.’ Ark thought.
As this settled in his mind, Claudia finally concluded her briefing on the strong teams from various academies.
“I’ll send more detailed information to everyone later.” She said. “This is all I can do for you now. The rest depends on your efforts.”
Everyone nodded in agreement.
With that, Seidoukan Academy’s summer vacation would begin in a few days. Meanwhile, Asterisk grew increasingly bustling. Visitors flocked to the city, and the atmosphere became more festive. The Phoenix Festa quietly commenced amidst this excitement.
