Title: Future Sight

Late-Night Visit to the Girls’ Dormitory!

There’s no denying it—this is an extremely reckless act.

The girls’ dormitory at Seidoukan Academy is considered a highly dangerous place.

Why is that?

Because standard security measures are ineffective against Genestella. If a Genestella decides to enter the dormitory, they can easily leap several floors, reach a window, and sneak in quietly. To protect against such individuals, stricter security measures are essential.

However, overly tight security would inconvenience the residents. As a compromise, Seidoukan Academy’s girls’ dormitory has implemented enhanced security measures with related warnings. Students can press a button or even shout to alert security, and they can configure the system, such as triggering an automatic alarm if a window is broken.

Facing such a heavily guarded place, Ark had no desire to sneak in.

“If I get caught, my life in this world will be over, right?”

Ark truly didn’t want his first life experience to end like this. But... he had no choice but to proceed.

“Now it all depends on you, Ser-Veresta.”

Hiding in a dark corner near the dormitory building, Ark muttered softly to Ser-Veresta in his hand and activated it.

Under deliberate pressure, the Urm Manadyte embedded in Ser-Veresta didn’t emit its usual red light. The crystal only flickered faintly when activated.

The blade, pure white in color, extended, and Ark quickly shrank it.

Soon, Ser-Veresta had shrunk to the size of a dagger. Without close inspection, it would be difficult to distinguish it from a Lux.

If anyone knowledgeable had witnessed this, they would surely be amazed.

Being able to manipulate Ser-Veresta so skillfully and shrink it to such an extent was truly impressive. It’s unclear if anyone had done it before, but the fact that Ark succeeded within a week of obtaining the weapon was remarkable.

Of course, what Ark was about to do next was even more challenging.

*BUZZ!*

The dagger-sized Ser-Veresta vibrated slightly, releasing heat. Under Ark’s control, the heat generated a warm airflow that enveloped him.

With the help of this heat, his feet lifted off the ground.

“Alright.”

Satisfied with the result, Ark confidently rose into the air.

His target was the upper floor of the girls’ dormitory. According to the information he received, the person he was looking for lived there.

With his newfound flying ability, Ark reached his destination without much difficulty. If he hadn’t been careful to avoid detection, he might have arrived in seconds.

“She should be asleep, right?”

Ark carefully peeked through the window and, seeing no one, raised the dagger-sized Ser-Veresta. He made a small cut at the edge of the window.

*HISS!*

A faint hissing sound, similar to something burning, echoed softly.

What he burned was the mana in the surrounding area.

After the Falling Star Rain, most advanced technology in the world heavily relied on Mana. In other words, if someone could disrupt Mana, they could temporarily disable the dormitory’s security system.

Fortunately, Ark had the means to do so.

With Ser-Veresta’s ability to burn anything, Mana was no obstacle. Ark could even manipulate Mana to enhance his power, let alone burn and disable it.

Thus, Ark easily infiltrated the upper floor of the girls’ dormitory, using the warm airflow to slip through the window and enter the room.

The interior was stunning—a spacious and luxurious room reminiscent of a high-end hotel suite.

All the furniture and decorations were of the highest quality. Though it didn’t entirely resemble a typical young girl’s room, its elegant design—fitting for the bedroom of a noble heir—perfectly matched the occupant’s personality.

“...This is a student dormitory? Unbelievable.”

That was Ark’s only thought.

Of course, such luxurious accommodations weren’t available to every student at Seidoukan Academy. As mentioned earlier, the higher a student’s rank, the greater their privileges. For Page One members, these privileges were so extensive that they could make others envious.

This suite-like room was one of the exclusive facilities granted only to the highest-ranked members of the Named Charts.

It wasn’t just the current occupant; all other Page One members enjoyed equally luxurious rooms. This fact made Ark ponder.

“Now that I think about it, I should be entitled to a better room, right?”

Since defeating Arcadi Finken, Ark had risen to Rank Thirteen, granting him the right to better accommodations.

Currently, he was stuck in a very ordinary shared dormitory room. Though not too troublesome, it sometimes felt cramped.

His roommate, in particular, was problematic—opportunistic and capricious. Initially, he was distant and cold, hardly acknowledging Ark. But after Claudia visited Ark in class and caused a stir, his roommate began asking probing questions. When Ark obtained Ser-Veresta, his roommate started staring intensely at the Orga Lux, clearly eyeing it with suspicion or envy.

Then, after Ark defeated Arcadi and rose in rank, his roommate’s attitude changed completely. He suddenly became overly friendly, almost sycophantic, as if trying to curry favor.

Ark couldn’t help but remain wary of him.

After all, this was Asterisk. Here, every student was a potential competitor. Even those uninterested in the Festa would pursue their goals through other means.

In the original story, there were even instances where fans of the protagonist asked for autographs, only to sell them online at high prices.

In Asterisk, famous students were like modern-day sports stars. The most popular Festa participants had loyal fans and could be targets of various exploitations.

Fame often invited trouble, and Ark’s roommate seemed like the type to secretly sell personal items or leak private information to competitors targeting Ark’s rank.

With this in mind, Ark made a decision.

“I’ll apply for a room transfer tomorrow.”

At Rank Thirteen, even if he couldn’t get a luxurious room, he would qualify for a spacious single room. That would eliminate many unnecessary worries.

After calming himself, Ark turned his attention to the adjacent room.

It seemed to be the bedroom.

Carefully controlling his steps, Ark crept forward and pushed the door open.

Perhaps due to the Mana disruption caused by Ser-Veresta, the automatic lock on the door had been disabled, allowing Ark to enter the bedroom easily.

What he saw next took his breath away.

Under the moonlight streaming through the window, a large, luxurious bed stood in the center of the room.

On the bed lay a golden-haired girl, her side facing him. She was asleep, as delicate and beautiful as Sleeping Beauty.

It was Claudia.

However...

“Hm...”

Claudia murmured softly in her sleep, her expression changing uncomfortably. She seemed trapped in a nightmare, her brows furrowed, her skin pale, and her body curled tightly under the pressure.

“...”

Ark remained silent. He didn’t try to wake her.

Instead, he quietly approached the bed, his gaze observing Claudia’s figure.

After a moment, he reached out his hand and felt under the blanket. Quickly, he pulled out two objects.

They were luxurious items, resembling a pair of eyes and carved with intricate, eerie patterns.

“Ogar Lux—Pandora.” Ark muttered its name softly.

Pandora was an Ogar Lux whose fame rivaled Ser-Veresta.

In some ways, it was even more terrifying.

Its ability was Future Sight.

In other words, it allowed its user to see the future.
