There have been a few failed cash-ins over time (mostly to make sure it isn't seen as a "foregone conclusion" what will happen). The crowd was on the "smarter" side of things as far as wrasslin goes. We had been expecting a Dolph cash-in for a while, so that's why the crowd goes nuclear. Shame about Dolph's actual title run though. Glad you liked the cash-in! You don't have to sweat, I didn't give much context when I posted the link in a random comment. Dolph came out recently and revealed wwe never really seen him as a top guy (they did the same with daniel bryan). He was treated just as a transitional champion even though as a wrestler he's basically everything you'd want other than not being a huge buff guy. Great in ring, Amazing seller, good on the mic, amazing heel

Aj won the divas title in june and would continue to try to help dolph retain his title but ended up making him lose it. him losing made him break up with her leading to her crazy girl gimmick that was very successful during the rest of her title reign which was the longest in history at the time. irl aj and punk had just started dating around this time then got married a year later
