Title: Give Gabriel the House Key

“What’s the deal with the key?”

Ren asked, somewhat puzzled by this.

He had never informed Gabriel about the issues mentioned earlier, so it made sense for him to express his curiosity.

But what was there to ask about a house key?

“There’s definitely an issue. Is it appropriate to just hand over your house key to a stranger?” Gabriel pressed firmly.

They had known each other for so long, still were good friends, and had a very close relationship, yet she didn’t even have his house key.

Instead, Asumi suddenly appeared during summer vacation and easily got Ren’s house key.

What was going on?

To this day, Gabriel felt uncomfortable thinking about the earlier scene.

Wanting to cook dinner for Ren, the two returned together.

“Kamikawa and Nino went out to play today. Let’s cook for him at my place. I just bought the ingredients yesterday.”

Seeing Asumi heading towards Ren’s front door as usual, Gabriel reminded her.

“No, I have his key.”

Asumi took out the key from her pocket and waved it in front of her.

“A key? Whose key?” Gabriel was stunned.

“Kouhai-kun’s house key.”

Saying this, Asumi inserted the key into the lock and, with a slight turn, opened the door.

“Where did you get this key?”

Gabriel asked, feeling surprised.

Why did someone else have Ren’s house key?

She didn’t even have it!

“Of course, Kouhai-kun gave it to me.” Asumi said matter-of-factly and entered the house, “Is there a problem?”

“Sorry Senpai, can you lend me Kamikawa’s house key?”

After a silent moment, Gabriel followed and entered.

Asumi asked curiously, “What are you going to do?”

“Use this key to ask something to Kamikawa.”

After pondering, Gabriel looked at Ren again and urged, “Answer my question quickly, don’t think of running away.”

The more she thought about it, the angrier she became, especially at Asumi’s dismissive attitude.

How awful!

“Senpai is not a stranger.”

Ren countered.

Gabriel’s eyes narrowed dangerously, “Is that so?”

After hearing this, Asumi came out of the kitchen, leaned against the door frame, and awaited his response with keen interest.

“She’s my Senpai.”

Ren stated the obvious fact.

“A very standard answer.”

Asumi praised his response, then turned around and walked back into the kitchen.

In fact, she didn’t mind Ren using ambiguous words to explain their relationship.

However, their relationship couldn’t accurately be described in one sentence: the relationship between senior and junior.

But if that were true, it would be even harder to explain later.

So it didn’t matter, any answer would do.

Anyway, it wouldn’t affect her relationship with him.

“But even so, you can’t just give your house key to anyone.” Gabriel still wouldn’t let it go.

Ren tried his best to explain, “I gave the key to Senpai so she could come and cook for me during the summer vacation.”

“I know this. I asked her before.”

Gabriel had asked when she was cooking with Asumi, so naturally, she knew what was going on.

“Then what’s the question?”

Ren didn’t quite understand what Gabriel wanted to express.

“How should I put it? It feels weird, weird in the true sense.”

Gabriel’s eyes wandered, and she hesitated as she spoke.

“Think about it, I’m the one who cooked for you before the summer vacation, but I don’t even have your house key. Instead, Senpai, who just started cooking for you during the summer vacation, got the key. It doesn’t make any sense, does it?”

“Eh? Gabriel, don’t you have Kouhai-kun’s house key?”

Asumi suddenly came out of the kitchen, looking puzzled.

She always assumed Gabriel also had Ren’s house key.

After all, Gabriel and Ren were good friends and had a very close relationship. It was reasonable for Gabriel to have his house key.

But what surprised her was that Gabriel didn’t.

No wonder Gabriel reacted so strongly when she saw her take out Ren’s house key.

But, think about it carefully.

If Gabriel did have it, she wouldn’t have suggested going to his house at that moment.

“No, I didn’t take the initiative to ask for it, how could I?”

Gabriel’s answer seemed to imply something.

“I didn’t ask for it, my Kouhai-kun gave it to me.”

Asumi felt she had been misunderstood and hurriedly explained.

“The main reason is that he often stays away from home in the evenings during the summer vacation, and doesn’t know when he’ll be back. Just like today, he gave me the key to make cooking easier.”

“Very well. I clearly helped with the cooking.”

Saying this, Gabriel’s eyes were always focused on Ren.

‘Isn’t her suggestion too direct?’ Asumi complained inwardly.

After seriously considering this issue, Ren stood up and went to the closet, took out the key, and placed it in front of Gabriel.

“This is for you.”

“What’s this?” Gabriel asked with awareness.

Ren answered, “It’s my house key.”

“Give me something to do, I don’t want it.”

As she said this, Gabriel had already placed her hand on the key.

“But, since you insisted on giving it to me, I will reluctantly accept it.”

“Um.”

Ren was quite pleased to see Gabriel willing to accept the key he offered.

Pointing to the key she held in her other hand, Asumi reminded, “Gabriel, can you return that key to me now?”

“Sorry, I almost forgot.”

Gabriel, immersed in joy at receiving her house key, finally realized and returned the key.

“No problem.”

Asumi waved her hand casually.

“Seriously, Kamikawa, you’re really mean.” After Gabriel carefully took key, she complained about his behavior, “The purpose of giving us the key was actually to facilitate cooking.”

“Yes, Kouhai-kun is very bad.” Asumi agreed with a smile.

“No, it’s for your convenience.”

Ren defended, “I didn’t want you wasting time waiting for me.”

“It seems that’s true.”

Asumi agreed with this statement.

After having Ren’s house key, cooking for him was indeed much easier.

“Besides that?” Gabriel asked, “Do you have any other purpose?”
