People with Superpowers Don’t Want to Be Popular 830

Title: Extremely Evil Behavior

Turning away from Gabriel in the kitchen, Ren lowered his head to turn on the screen and check the news.

“There are a lot of messages.”

After counting carefully, he found many people had messaged him today.

In the past, there were only one or two unread messages, and sometimes about four or five.

Now, most of the people he knew were sending him messages.

The messages fell into the following categories.

The first category was the most common type, thank you notes and home reports, which comprised most of the messages, including from Fumino, Rizu, Vigne, Miku, Yotsuba, and Itsuki.

The specific content of these messages was basically similar to “I had a great time today, thank you for the invitation” and “I got home safely.”

In response, Ren politely gave two standard replies: “You’re welcome” and “I understand.”

The second category was reminders from Hayasaka.

The specific content of the message was [school starts tomorrow, please don’t be late].

His reply was [Thank you for the reminder].

The third category was about the current situation, a message sent by Asumi.

[After my dad found out I was at the water park with you today, he seemed very happy for some reason and even said something that seemed related to marriage. It really left me at a loss for how to respond.]

[I don’t know how to answer that call either.]

Ren honestly expressed his feelings.

It was embarrassing to ask him, who wasn’t good with words, to help think about this matter.

The fourth category was messages asking for opinions, each from Chika and Ichika.

[How about I wear this when school starts tomorrow? Doesn’t it feel like a love detective?]

The image was a photo of Chika. In the photo, she wore a brown deerstalker hat and a brown shawl coat, holding a magnifying glass in her left hand as a prop and a pipe in her right hand at her mouth, closing her eyes and leaning against the wall as if thinking about something.

[The school discipline committee will remind you about violations of school rules. It does feel like a detective.]

As an ordinary high school student, obeying school rules was the most basic thing.

[Ren-kun, if you have time, can we go to the water park again, okay? Maybe next summer vacation.]

[Sure.]

Ren agreed to Ichika’s request.

If she wanted to go to the water park with him again soon, he probably wouldn’t agree, since there was no point in going to a place he just visited.

But next year would be different, and it would feel fresh again.

The last category was messages with unclear meanings, sent to him by Raphiel.

[Be safe tonight.]

Ren didn’t quite understand the meaning of the message.

He wasn’t going out at night; was there something he needed to be cautious about for safety?

[Okay, I understand.]

In short, agree first.

While Ren processed the messages they sent him, Gabriel prepared the food and walked out of the kitchen.

“Are you playing something?”

While placing the dishes on the table, Gabriel asked Ren, who was bowing his head and quickly tapping his phone from time to time.

“I’m chatting with others.” Ren answered honestly.

“With whom?”

Gabriel suddenly became alert.

“Ichika, Miku, Furuhashi, Itsuki, Senpai...”

Before Ren finished speaking, he was interrupted by a surprised-looking Gabriel.

“Kamikawa, when did you become like this?”

If her memory was correct, Ren used to be someone who needed to ask her how to respond properly when chatting with others.

How had he turned into someone who could chat with so many girls after not meeting during the summer vacation?

“Like what?”

Ren didn’t quite understand.

“Like chatting with many girls at the same time.”

To make Ren understand her point, Gabriel deliberately used the simplest explanation.

“It’s not at the same time, it’s one by one.” Ren tried hard to argue.

“I don’t quite understand.”

“Just… can you come and see for yourself?”

Realizing he wasn’t good at explaining the matter, Ren gave up on explaining.

“Alright.”

Gabriel sat next to him, intending to see what he meant by one by one.

Then, Ren started chatting in front of her.

He first chose to reply to Itsuki’s message.

[When I think about school starting tomorrow, for some reason I feel scared. It’s strange. There’s obviously nothing to be afraid of at school, right?]

‘Tell me your feelings and hopes for comfort.’

After quickly reading it, Gabriel made a silent assessment in her heart.

She just didn’t know how Ren would answer.

So, under her gaze, Ren started thinking.

‘Isn’t it taking too long to think?’

Three minutes passed, and after realizing he still hadn’t reacted, Gabriel couldn’t help but complain in her heart.

Although she knew Ren wasn’t good at chatting and needed time to organize his words, it shouldn’t take this long for a simple question, right?

After about thirty seconds, Ren started typing.

[Actually, there’s nothing scary about school. The reason you feel scared might be because you don’t want the vacation to end.]

Then, click Send.

‘This answer? So serious! As expected of you!’

No wonder it took him a long time to think. It wasn’t easy for him to say such a long sentence all at once.

After replying to Itsuki, he then clicked on Fumino’s message.

[The summer vacation ended like this, and it feels like time passed so quickly.]

‘This is a very common emotion, so he should...’

Gabriel had just finished reading the content when Ren’s reply was already typed and sent.

[Yes.]

‘...Isn’t this answer too perfunctory?’

Before Gabriel could complain further, Ren clicked on Chika’s chat interface.

This time, a new reply from Itsuki also appeared.

As if Ren didn’t see the message, he thought about his reply to Chika.

After replying to Chika’s message, he clicked on the next person’s chat interface, ignoring the new reply from Fumino, and then thought about his response.

After replying to everyone along the message bar, he reopened Itsuki’s chat interface.

Seeing this, Gabriel finally understood what Ren meant by one by one.

Holding her hand that wanted to type, she sincerely suggested, “Kamikawa, why don’t you stop chatting? This is too torturous! How can people chat like this!”

She was an angel and couldn’t stand to see such evil behavior.
