Hypnosis can be particularly regulating. Hypnosis is a form of co-regulation. You are here, listening to my voice. Your mind and your body listens to the tone of my voice, which is caring, soothing. Your nervous system syncs up with mine, and feels calm, and soothed.
This can be a good and healthy experience.
This can be a way to teach your nervous system, what it feels like, to be calm, regulated, soothed.
So you can learn how to access those states for yourself, throughout your daily life.
This can also become a problem, if you rely on hypnosis too much, too often, as your source of regulation.

Thanks Miss Alder the mind is an amazing gift, it's beyond understanding, but incredibly pleasureable.

It can be a form of escapism, escaping into fantasies, escaping into planning, escaping into ruminating. It's one of the most fundamental addictions, although not one psychology talks about a lot. There is a lot of overlap between ADHD, dissociative disorders, and formal addictions.

Hypnosis to me is something that happens more often subliminally rather than personally instigated. Mind over matter for the want of a descriptive trait, just thinking.
