2023-03-29 01:01:19 +0000 UTCWhen I first heard this album in 8th grade in the mid 70s, my older brothers were obsessed with this album and also Brain Salad Surgery...we all just were so appreciative of just how phenomenal the music and writing is, and how they are such virtuosos on their respective instruments, as all the best Prog Band members are! Emerson's keyboard and piano here are so beautiful and classically oriented...Nik picked up on his Chopin like playing. Palmer's drums are so inventive and compelling, as are Lake's vocals.

I think my cousin played this for me with the obligatory black light on with the get stoned poster glowing. I remember I had to save my money so I could go out and get it. Nice to hear it again with you no black light this time.
