[25/11/12]Recently Update Plan & Some Survey
Added 2025-11-12 12:16:41 +0000 UTC
Hi guys! This week's update will be slightly delayed and will likely be posted on Saturday. The update will include the RV Trompette Ballerina and 45mm low-heel Pumps (Premium). For my next MOD after Trompette, I’m thinking of making a pair of loafers with wool lining, perfect for the current winter season.
I’d also like to take this opportunity to discuss the future direction of this channel with all my Supporters.
As you may have noticed, I’ve been maintaining a pace of roughly one new release per week. To balance the needs of both the HS2 and KK communities, almost all of my recent releases have been made in two versions. Additionally, considering the extra Premium content for paid supporters, each update essentially requires preparing 4 MODs.
If the Premium content is simply a minor modification of the free content—such as adding some decorations or changing the heel shape or height—the workload can be managed within the same week. However, if the update includes one free content plus another completely separate Premium content (like this time’s wedge sandals and MiuMiu Mary Janes), it becomes a bit too much to handle.
I am not a full-time MOD creator, and recently, my life and work have kept me too busy to fully focus on MOD-making. I also hope to have more free time to explore creating other types of MODs. Remember when I mentioned I’d like to make jewelry accessory MODs? I still haven’t figured out how to create accessories with bones today...
About Update Frequency
As mentioned above, I’m considering adjusting the pace of MOD creation. My current idea is to release one new item per week, alternating between free and Premium content. For example:
Week 1 of December: Free MOD
Week 2: Premium MOD
Week 3: Free MOD
...and so on.
If I create other small MODs like socks or jewelry during this time, I’ll release them as they’re ready. This way, when preparing Premium MODs, I won’t feel limited to only making minor changes to free content and can explore more creative ideas. This approach would reduce my workload while ensuring both HS2 and KK supporters receive updates. What do you all think?
About model's Polygon Count
The shoe MODs I currently make have around 80,000+ polygons(quadrilateral) per pair in average. This might sound good and look smooth, but this number actually quite high—possibly even more than all other elements in a Maker scene combined (like characters and backgrounds)! This can be inefficient performance-wise, and if multiple pairs of shoes appear in a scene, it may cause the game heavier.Senior modders like HS2’s dw121d keeps his shoe polygon counts well-controlled, at around 42,000 polygons per pair. And KK’s Cleep-san even has less polygon counts than dw.
Let me give an example: one of my early MODs, the KK version of Ferragamo Vara, initially had around 32,000 polygons. Later, I made a 2.0 version with further smoothing on the upper, out-sole, and heel, increasing the polygon count to 64,000. However, during gameplay, unless you use a close-up shot, there’s almost no visible difference between the two.
You can see the grid of V2.0 is denser, which means more polygonsSo, I’d like to hear your opinions: Should I maintain the current polygon count for future MODs, or reduce it to a level similar to my earlier works? Additionally, when making MODs, many unseen parts (like the bottom of the midsole or the top of the outsole) also contribute to polygon counts. These could potentially be removed too.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on these questions!
For the update frequency, if all goes well, I plan to switch to the new update schedule starting in December.
For the polygon counts, please vote your opinion down here! I think maybe most of you guys have a decent gaming PC, and both HS2 & KK are fairy old games, maybe you guys don't have any performance problem?
*I’ve placed this survey behind the paywall to better gather feedback from core supporters.

2025-11-23 20:30:13 +0000 UTCchanging height is a good idea. Personally i dont mind if you just change the height ,including the previous mods you created to a lower height(such as 100mm to 40-60mm) as a premium content

2025-11-13 23:35:35 +0000 UTCAbout the frequency of your mods: You shouldn't feel obliged of anything. I know I'm on the other side of the spectrum releasing mods once a year or even less, it is really when I feel like it. But modding community is about sharing, so you should be the one to decide when you want to share. As you said you are a hobbyist so even the paying patreons shouldn't be seen as customers, in the end, we are all just a bunch of pervs enjoying ourselves :D I'm all for the plan that reduces your workload so you can keep the enjoyment and motivation, which will naturally translate into quality stuff for all of us.
