Chaos and the creative process

I read this recently about the creative process of great music. It’s the creative process behind any great art form when the creator has reached a level where their technical proficiency with their chosen craft is such that it disappears from the creative process altogether. This is very true for photography.

“The brilliance of music is that it’s a living, breathing beast. One that thrives on chaos and becomes truly transcendent when its creators hurl themselves into the fire, emerging with something untamed and real. It’s not just about the right notes or nailing the perfect take; it’s about spirit. That indescribable energy that makes the hair on your arms stand up.”

When I think about the work I've done that resounds most with me, those shoots have been like this: somewhat chaotic, with no ability (or desire) to control either the environment or anything technical.
