Aurora looks fucked up in some of these but that's the look, we call it the "fucked doll" look. Also, my camera sensor was covered in dust resulting from changing lenses in the desert too many times.
We stayed for two weeks and it was fucking hot, like 42 degrees C in a house not designed for the heat.
The Clare Valley, where they live, is on the edge of the desert so we took a few days and went out into the desert north of Hawker. We shot some stuff - video and stills in an abandoned railway building (the Old Ghan Railway) and then some more stuff down at Pt Germaine alongside an old jetty. That day was like a furnace, there were hardly any people on the road and the towns were deserted - everyone was inside! It was simply too hot to be outside.
