It took me a long time of searching to come across some of these answers, and even though some seem obvious, they are overlooked by most photographers. Often work that speaks from your own heart won't be super popular, won't get many 'likes' or whatever, but astute viewers (galleries, curators etc) will see it clearly. Essentially, anyone can take a good picture of a pretty young girl, so look beyond this.
