A lot of people are here today to see the New Year fireworks.

One of them is here with their friends. One of them is here with their family. One of them is here just so they won’t be alone tonight. One of them feels even more alone by being here. One of them has just started a wonderful new relationship. One of them has just ended a relationship they’ll always remember. One couple is celebrating happy years together. One couple is cherishing decades of love and memories. One of them treasures this moment, knowing it won’t last forever. One of them enjoys this moment, not knowing they won’t be here forever. One of them wants to say how they truly feel. One of them hides their true feelings deep inside. One of them is thinking about the person beside them. One of them is thinking about someone far away. One of them is finally able to love who they are. One of them is starting to love themselves for the first time. One of them misses their dogs at home. One of them misses their cats in the sky. One of them feels excited about all the things they’ll do next year. One of them regrets all the things they didn’t do this year. One of them hopes that next year will be better for them. All of them don’t know what next year will bring.

But all of them are here, passing through time at the same pace, celebrating and hoping that all the bad things will pass like a fading year, and all the good things will come like the arrival of a new one.
