When it comes down to paintball tournaments, people are generally selfish. You got shot, it's your fault, not my fault. You didn't do your job. BUT at the same time, the odds of you pushing or protecting a friend or team mate out of the way is pretty slim. BUT this is a manga or comic and it's also fantasy.
