Sakura had good intentions, definitely done better in the manga tho. It was shitty of her to do it but i can kinda see why. The anime studio really hated sakura. They make her out so much worse than she is. iirc one of the animators or extras were released because he had done random work of her being legit tortured.
Anywho i think its good writing.
Also as a side note, Sakura is a notoriously hated character in the anime community. So for actual decades she and her fans were at the bottom of the food chain so to speak.
But now that in the last 4-5 years shes gotten so many fans, theyve begun to fight toxic behavior with toxic behavior, i myself am guilty of that to. They can dish it but cannot take it.

I think part of the reason why the scene is a lot harder to understand is the anime does a terrible job portraying Sakura I think there was a news story that I read, that someone in the writing or producing groups didn't like Sakura as a character so they changed a lot of what she was in the manga so this scene is a little harder to understand. But I always looked at the scene as two things One Sakura was testing herself to see if she could really find the resolve to go after Sasuke by facing Naruto first and number two I always felt her confession was 100% true That's exactly how she felt and she does love Naruto while it's portrayed to the audience like a romantic confession of love in reality it was sakuras admission that she's fallen in love with who Naruto is as a comrade and that she considers him like family. I think this scene really is an underrated character development scene that we get to see it's effect over the next 100 episodes.

This was the moment I turned my back on Sakura lol, like come on. Supposedly one of the smartest ninja in the village and she went with that tactic with Naruto? Wish the show had a more interesting main girl character like Nobara or something

Ailincia, trust me, nobody on youtube is going to get upset over your thoughts on Sakura. In fact, you're probably going to get the nicest comments ever when this hits youtube. I dont know anybody who was on Sakura's side because she was clearly wrong for this. There isn't another opinion. We all understand why she did it, but it was stupid and wrong.

I was waiting for this one!! You are not alone at all in how you feel about that scene with Sakura. I think Sakura handled this whole thing terribly, even though I believe there are parts of her 'confession' that are legitimate. I do believe she admires Naruto and that she cares about him from the bottom of her heart. If Sasuke weren't a factor maybe she'd even have some legitimate feelings for Naruto at this point in time, but she is not in love with him and she knows it, he knows it, everyone around them knows it. Not to mention, like you said she's aware of Hinata's feelings for Naruto now so it's an extra layer of not cool lol.
p.s. I felt you when you were venting about your friend. I hope that she is able to break out of that cycle at some point. I know all too well about this as I have direct experience with someone leaving to go back to a toxic ex of theirs so it hits home for me now more than it did when I was growing up and first saw this episode.

So far, the only thing we know for sure that Madara has lied about was the Nine Tails' attack on the Leaf Village. Itachi was telling the truth when he told Sasuke that Madara was behind the incident, since Minato confirmed that when he was talking with Naruto during his fight with Pain. Otherwise everything he's said seems pretty credible I agree, but it does call some things he says into question

On a more light hearted note: did you see how Yamato was ready to throw hands when he saw the bs Sakura was pulling? :D

Loved the reaction and you don't have to apologize or go back on your opinions for a bunch of kids on Youtube. There will always be haters regardless of your opinion, that's part and parcel of being popular with a large following.
And I agree with your nuanced take on Sakura, she meant well but ended up manipulating and playing with Naruto's feelings and going after Sasuke herself is a dumb decision. We will see how that plays out.
Also about Madara, I agree that it is not black and white, he's also wanting to end all the wars and you could argue living a happy life under an illusion is not necessarily worse than living a real one full of suffering. What is reality anyway? It is just a perception to varying degrees for example blind people can't perceive the visual world, is their life any less real because they can't see the world for how it is? You could argue in an illusion there's no free will but how free of a will do you have in a life bound by laws, expectations, your own self-doubts and restrictions you placed upon yourself not to mention all the outside factors?
Sorry for the tl;dr post was just thinking about stuff..

This was the episode that made Saukra inexcusable for me.. and solidified my opinion of her as not just useless but also a hindrance.. the fact that the first thing she does after this is to go look for sasuke like bitch get your shit together i can't

Sakura had good intentions, and she knew it was a messed-up thing to do, but she genuinely felt like she had to do it in order to protect Naruto. She foolishly and wrongly thought that Naruto's crush on her would be enough to overshadow his unbreakable bond with Sasuke. You had the same reaction all of us did when we saw this. I like that and just speak your mind. More important we are going to war and the only word to describe future episodes is ''CRAZY''.

Tbh that moment with Sakura and Naruto, the execution was really bad, she did that to protect him, Naruto mean a lot to her. The first time Naruto almost died against Sasuke when he was a genin. And she doesn't want to see Naruto suffer more bc of Sasuke. From what Naruto says he understood Sasuke's suffering, so he always runs after him. Sakura's execution is bad but was well-intentioned and that's what reflects humans no one is perfect to make good decisions even with good intentions especially for a 16yrs girl that's why I don't hate her. But yeah don't delete the video this is just perfect!

I think I had a similar reaction on first watch but it’s been so long I don’t remember, just hated the manipulation factor of it, but even if everyone of Naruto’s friends sat him and down and explained he wouldn’t listen, like when jiraya was telling him to let sasuke go or else, explaining he’s shit with orochimaru Naruto was still like there’s a way. He maturity showed in this scene, knowing Sakura will never stop loving sasuke and he’s emotions shouldn’t get in the way

Wait Ari can I just suggest that you give us fewer options to pick from for anime suggestions cause the votes are way too sporadic, would be more concise and accurate if you just went for 5,6 options max. Everybody is defending their niche anime rn
