Whenever someone asks me to add more art to an oc I designed... Well, magic happens ✨

This may be one of the best setch pages I've done so far (nsfw) and the secret resides in the request itself: I had complete freedom ✨

When it comes to commissions, total fredom like this (I was literally handed a budget and ask to draw as many sketches as I could with it) has both pros and cons. The cons are that sometimes, as an artist, i don't have it withing me to be creative. My mood is not totally there, maybe I'm tired, maybe I've been drawing for too long without a break, maybe I'm just not inspired. I think it's a good practice to ask the artist if they are in the mood for such a commission.

But now, if they are... The biggest advantage to this is that magic just happens ✨ The poses just feel right, the mood is consistent... It clicks! I was totally in my zone for this one and I think the best way to tell is the right pose.

The drawing on the right is missing the face. This was not laziness nor lack of time. This was a choice that mas made as I tried to give her one. It didnt sit right with me. There is something to leaving the focus totally to her hips and making the rest just fade. For the record, I brought this up to my client (who is probably reading this 🤭) and they agreed that leaving it like this was the right call. I honestly think it's the best part of this whole page, and again, she doesnt even have a face.

Now this is not the only way to tell. This may be only noticeable to me, but getting these complex poses was easier exactly because I really wanted to draw them. But then again this may not be very visible hehe.

It's a big trust fall to just let the artist do their thing. Luckily for the owner of this gorgeous oc, they have worked with me before, so it was probably less anxiety inducing (if there was any). I do think that, if you want to commission an artist and you really like their work, going "no prompt" can be a fun experience. I advice tho that you ask them first if they are in the mood! 🤭
