Here's a wip of one of the bigger illustrations I'm working on right now ✨ This is one of those pieces that is very meaningfull to the commissioner. These characters have a lot of love and work behind and I could tell by the descriptions and references I was given. It's always dificult to properly portray one's emotions into a canvas, so imagine doing so with someone else's... Still this pieces are always very rewarding 🌸

Landscapes are also a big challenge for me. I am NOT where I want to be as an artist, there is so much for me to learn still, and pieces like this make it clear as day: I still have a long road ahead of me. I lack knowledge, contrast, details... I lack a lot still. But the nice thing about my job is that in every drawing I do, you can see the improvement ✨

In this occasion, I followed an artist friend's advice: start with big shaped first, only big shaped, no details. I think it's working?? But I need much more practice orz

PRO TIP: You can check if your contrast is right by turning your drawing into black and white! (In CSP you can do this by creating a new layer and painting it pure white, then setting said layer to mode: color. You can turn on and off this layer to check your values ^^) And as you can see, even tho the drawing so far looks good, It's still not where it needs to be!
