PATREON UPDATES FOR 2025

Stopping by because we have a few changes coming up that we plan to implement for the year, but we would also love some input from you all, too!

Daniel and I both agreed that we want to give you (our patrons) more consistent engagement here because you all are the reason we can really make this channel run. So we sat down and made plans for what we want to attempt for this year, and based on your feedback as the year goes on, see what we keep/change/remove.

First up! We're redefining the Patron Tiers!
$1 Tier - Book Nerds
$5 Tier - Fellow Goblins
$10 Tier - Greene Daniels

1) 2 Videos per month: This will likely be a movie watch-along or a TV series discussion, like Arcane, that we will post here.

• NOTE: We have decided to reopen a P.O. Box in the coming weeks. We will only be making this available to our paid tier patron members. We thought it would be fun to bring back "Please Dear God Don't Be A Bomb" in a more controlled setting with our patrons who are less likely to send us things that make us...uncomfortable.

2) Bi-Weekly (every other week) Writing Discussion Newsletter: Now, this was my brain child, so if you all aren't vibing with it, we can drop it. But Daniel and I really loved the Dear Authors videos he did wayyyy back in 2019 (and that many other wonderful creators have done as well), but we want to cultivate a deeper discussion. (Can you tell we've been watching BrandoSando's Lecture series?)

He and I thought it would be great to form a sort of writing discussion group via a newsletter+patreon combo. Our plan is to send out a bi-weekly (every other week) email that is just us talking about some aspect of writing. This could be anything from finding your authorial voice, to sharing best practices for plotting, to the best and worst advice you've ever received, what makes an old trope feel new/refreshed, and so on. Whatever the topic is, we'd also be including small writing practices or prompts or resources we found helpful along with it.

We would then be posting about the topic here on Patreon, and our hope is that we could have a discussion here that both writers AND readers can share their thoughts as well as any resources they might want to share with others! We're all interested in books, so it felt right to build a deeper community where we can talk about this.

3) Monthly Call-In Voice Line Livestream: We realized that AMAs on Youtube are so limited with the amount you can write in the SuperChats and how concise things need to be for Daniel to answer in rapidfire succession. We still plan to do AMAs on Youtube, but we wanted something more personal for our patrons.

Our plan is to open a Google Voice line where people can call in and leave voicemails. Daniel would like to once-a-month livestream here on Patreon listening and answering to these messages.

MOST IMPORTANTLY: We don't want Patrons to feel like they are missing out on content because they are not paying the highest tier. We are the ones who are thankful to YOU, so all of this content will be available from the $1 Tier to the $10 Tier. We just appreciate whatever you can comfortably support. 

The only difference with be that all Fellow Goblins + Greene Daniels will have their names listed at the end of every video on the screen, and Greene Daniels will also receive a personalized thank you video directly to your email.
