There is this very interesting video which really delves deep in Eren and Reiner, I cannot recommend it enough : https://youtu.be/uCVbdvRcwkg?si=O1PEwDfI-mofMFRn

Personally, I think they need a palatte cleanser. Even Tony said it at some point, that all they're seeing is fights. I personally want them to watch Violet Evergarden. no fights, just stories.

If you enjoyed Attack on Titan you will surely enjoy "Code Geass". It has a similar story trope but the difference is that C.G. came first and it's more action-packed than AoT.

So for Bertholdt He disappeared because he used all his body as steam, so nothing was left of him and and then he escaped using the steam as cover. Plus, it was explained in season 1 when Eren protected Mikasa and Armin from a cannon shell and only materialised the upper body of his titan, that the intention with which you meterialise a titan is very important and that's why the titan disappeared just after accomplishing Eren's goal, so Bertholdt may have done the same.

A bit late but here are some very important things I wanted to point out... Its a real mouthful but bear with me... Eren is the freest person in the world giving all his power and the decisions he can make with it, but that's really just the tip of it. In reality he’s a slave to his initial and most profound nature, back in season 1 he believed that we all had a right to take others freedom if it meant preserving our own, he indirectly believed that we should fight for freedom even at the cost of turning from a victim to a perpetrator which is shown in the episode where he kills the kidnappers in season 1 and latter developed in season 4, ( he responded to the cruelty of this world with nothing but cruelty). It’s a stark contrast from Erwin’s ideology ( responding to the cruelty of this world with the concept of legacy, trust and sacrificing what you hold dear to see it through), this ideology was in fact passed down to the survivors of the survey corp indirectly, the author made it this way, a few examples are Hange, Levi, Armin ect. As well as some interesting offshoots and other interesting ideologies of secondary characters. In the story Eren ironically the person with the greatest power and thus the existence which « theoretically » should be the nearest from freedom is the slave of the story, why ? Because while he’s « supposed to » be free physically he's captive of the mind of his younger self (Eren as a kid) which nullifies his physical freedom and this is showcased with Aot’s whole timeline deal. In Aot the order IS important if the very thing you want to change happened before you ( Eren’s ideology as a kid of simply « killing the enemy ») and is preventing you actively from changing the past and thus the future then what can you do ? There are more complex explanations out there but that's one simplistic way to look at it. Eren gave three reasons as to why he almost exterminated humans ( not that it makes it any less harrowing) ; For his friends safety, to entrust the future to them and give them a good starting point as international heroes. To live in a world free of human (which is actually very interesting because it’s linked with the last panel of the boy who is going to repeat the cycle… ) But most importantly because he felt like it ; Eren as a kid had a "calling" to fight oppression no matter the cost. So he indirectly made any other choice impossible for Future Eren because future Eren experiences the past at the same time as he experiences the present and since the future was bleak : Zeke's plan, sacrificing Historia and continuing the cycle of children eating their parents to continue having a deterent against the world but more importantly the world's complete refusal to let go of their fear of the unkown " the devils" of paradis island. So that they can get to understand and know one another rather than conclusively deem them as devils. Since the future looked bleak all Eren was left with was a flood of memories and thoughts from the past calling him to what seemed to be now the only path, to accomplish his "calling". All in all when Eren says this happened because he’s an idiot, it is such an accurate description because it entails everything that happened from the beginning to the end of the story for his character and that I touched on a bit in those previous paragraphs. Eren is a depiction of the cruelty of Aot’s world , his hardships are a question, his end is an answer, a tragic normal one for any normal human being in his situation, and that other characters more notably Erwin are a clear more satisfying answer to the whole show. Finally when Ymir found the tree that she fell in, she was being hunted, chased by dogs, scared of death and in need of an undying body and a world free from death, which she obtained when she touched the "origin of all life" that is at least what Zeke said. However, with the final scene, we see an innocent child, not running for his life and accompanied by a companion in the form of a dog, approaching the hole in the tree where Eren's head was buried. The scene all around feels a lot more optimistic but is intentionally ambiguous. Does he also need an undying body, or something else? I like to think that he enters that tree with no malicious intent or peril, but instead curiosity and hope, with the same resolve of exploring and understanding new things that the survey corps embodied, meaning no titans will be created but something else. Changing so ever slightly the cycle of mankind is meaningfull.

Yes, you’re right: that moment between Eren and Mikasa in the little house in the forest took place within the Paths. And yes, Eren had a “moment” with each of his friends there, and he erased their memories. But there are a few details to note: 1. Although the dimension of the Paths exists beyond time, it’s implied that all of those conversations happened during the period when Armin’s group was traveling by ship to Ödiha to get the flying boat to work. During that time, Eren spoke with each of them and wiped their memories. He knew that, after his death, his friends would recall what had been said. 2. The only person Eren did not speak to during that period was Mikasa—and there’s a reason for that: Mikasa is an Ackermann. Not even the power of the Founding Titan can manipulate an Ackermann’s memory, as Kenny’s grandfather explained in Season 3 of the show. Therefore, to be able to “live” that intimate moment with Mikasa, Eren waited until she faced his Titan while he was fighting Armin—i.e., just before she killed him. 3. Time in the Paths flows differently: one second in the real world can equate to several years within the Paths. Thus, it’s understood that Eren spent four years with Mikasa in that realm. Their story there began at the moment of Mikasa’s “response,” and, yes, in the Paths, reliving the scene, she gave him a different answer. They then ran off to that little house and spent four happy years together. You can see that Eren appears more grown-up, reinforcing the idea that, for the two of them, years truly passed there. But when the experience ended, Mikasa simply found herself confronted with her mission to kill Eren.

The scene with Mikasa and eren did actually happen. It happened in the paths where years happen in an instant. Eren and Mikasa grew older as a couple in the paths so that she could have those experiences and memories and would be able to move on without wondering "what could've been"

Isayama, the author of the story, did state that Petra and Levi were not actually involved. But I think that Petra would talk about him a lot because she idolized him. He said if she ended up with anyone, it would have likely been the guy who bites his tongue while talking and riding the horse. Orlo or something was his name.
