2025-04-25 04:23:44 +0000 UTCArriving at this episode, we can finally talk about Attack on Titan’s world map! During Kiyomi Azumabito’s explanation of her plan, a world map is shown. If you look closely, you’ll notice it is basically our own map—just turned upside-down. Paradis Island corresponds to Madagascar. The Marleyan continent is Africa, and the placement of the other nations is left deliberately vague for us to imagine. Now, another interesting detail: it’s clear that the author, Hajime Isayama, probably chose Madagascar because of the so-called “Madagascar Plan,” a 1940 proposal circulating in Nazi Germany to deport Europe’s Jewish population to Madagascar—then a French colony—and convert the island into a vast ghetto under German control. The scheme was ultimately abandoned in 1942 when the Nazis shifted to the “Final Solution,” but the historical episode makes the Madagascar–Paradis parallel especially resonant.

2025-04-24 10:24:03 +0000 UTCThere might be other planes, but I guess the important thing to keep in mind is that they are the only people who know who and what they’re looking for, and they don’t have a quick way to communicate with anyone on the mainland to pass on what they know. As for the port, I think the point is that the ship might be able to get there before the rumbling simply because it is travelling more or less straight to the destination without obstacle. Everything is on a wing and a prayer.

2025-04-23 21:44:11 +0000 UTC14:19 actually we do maybe not the personal marital problems LOL but especially with AOT the reason its so good is because it relates so closely with real life issues whether in the world or in our own lives. I'm aware they're already done with the show now but for future reference I love hearing the comparisons to real life with these shows! Vinland saga obviously does it very well too
