More importantly, Reiner's Armored Titan looks the way it does, exposed with missing armor, because it manifested his desire to just want to die. And you guys nailed the "cycle of violence" narrative being laid out. Lastly, Marco and Porco are/were brothers so it age wise as to why Porco now has the Jaw Titan after they got it back from Ymir.
