The current holder of the Death Note is not only killing criminals but also targeting businessmen and other individuals from companies that directly compete with Yotsuba. The characters shown in the meeting at the end are essentially shareholders and executives of Yotsuba. These shareholders have noticed Kira's new pattern—eliminating both criminals and people whose deaths benefit Yotsuba. As a result, they have started holding these meetings to discuss and possibly influence the killings in their favor.
