Technically that’s never clarified. I think that, since in S1 they established that you have to give an order and goal to Ymir to use the power, Shifters can store orders inside of the syringe when it’s extracted. This is supported when Rob, being the only royal left and not knowing how anything works, tells Historia that his syring will make her extremely powerful, and latter he becomes that big boi, so that syringe specifically did that.

Especially the ending I use to think it was bad but once I piece things together and truly understand the story AoT’s ending was perfect & honestly gets better & better the more you think about it.

To me the choice between Armin and Erwin also felt kinda metaphorical for how you would choose to solve conflict. With more aggression, "eye for an eye" mentality (Erwin referred to as the devil that is needed to defeat the titans). Or trying to look beyond all that, with a bit more compassion and hope. I honestly don't know how one would solve such conflict without losing your humanity. But I'm glad there are really people like Armin though, who have hope and keep trying. Well, enough of these deep thoughts 😩 Looking forward to next reactions!

Levi was thinking back to Kenny saying "everyone had to be drunk on something to keep pushing on", so Levi thought if Erwin gets brought back he can finally see the basement & accomplish his childhood dream but after that he would likely lose his purpose/reason for fighting which is what made him a good commander. RIP the goat Erwin
