2025-01-17 16:41:41 +0000 UTC100% agree with you. As a dub/sub watcher, I understand when watching dub over sub would make more sense to some. In one of the earlier episodes, Jill mentioned how rewatching it in dub, helped her understand some of the jokes a bit more (something along those lines). Then to mention having to find the right subtitles. There's countless scenes I love, where they go "huh?" because they were confused. Overall, being able to listen to the dialogue, without reading and hearing it in your NATIVE language, is going to objectively give the watcher a better experience in many ways, especially for an older audience that's NEW to anime. There's so many sub reactions and when you finally find a dub reaction, what happens in the comments? "Please switch to sub, dubs are bad, sub is superior." In some cases when the reactors already started dub and LIKED dub, then change to sub based on the comments, instead of sticking to their decision.

I still paid $5 to watch their reactions early lol theyre good so far but I still believe dubs would be best for them for now

2025-01-17 05:32:45 +0000 UTCWith all due respect I totally disagree... you're putting the blame on sub/dub but to me these are just fresh brand new to internet real people reacting, they are not long time youtubers reactors that keep in their mind they need to speak in every single big scene for content. They are watching as anyone would watch in their couch at home not caring really about the camera. You can see they are catching up most if not all the important details and even coming up with theories that are becoming crazy snipes btw (one of them I only got reading in reddit after I finished). To me is all good, I like seeing people genuinely getting the story and being surprised when the scenes should really be surprising and their comments after the episode are always being good discussions as well!

2025-01-16 01:40:05 +0000 UTCI really do mean it in good faith, although I admit its annoying when youtube reactors who are ACTUALLY new to anime get pestered by the sub elitists who say dubs are unwatchable, and japanese VA's are just "that much better" when they dont understand any japanese lol. Im almost guaranteed they would resonate with the show 1000% more if they watched in english, as that was my personal experience watching aot as my first anime not too long ago. Now having watched at least 40+ reactions in sub, I will say dub is a better watching experience overall every single time.

I don't agree or disagree with you, but I can say they are watching Death Note dubbed this week if it works. So maybe we can see a difference or not. I've never even seen Death Note, so I don't care how they watch it. Majority voted dubbed on the poll and that's what they wanted to try too.
