You should probably tell them that the wound doesn’t have to be self inflicted for them to transform

Reiners head was also steaming when he popped out of Annie's fist. I had to stop motion it to make sure it wasn't her blood but yeah he was injured and it fixed itself. I always thought he left the injury on his arm cause he'd have to explain why he healed so fast if someone noticed he was no longer injured

I think he waited to heal it because when you heal it generates steam so maybe he didn't want to generate attention to them with everyone in the castle at the time knowing that it's possible for humans to become titans (Annie and Eren). In Season 1, when Eren hit his head during training the top of his head was steaming but we (the audience) never noticed it because we weren't aware humans could turn into titans yet.
Reiner and Bert didn't transform at the castle even despite being attacked because they knew that the smaller titans wouldn't stand a chance against them. If they revealed their identities it would be over for them. Also, they weren't aware that Annie has been captured. Annie's capture, Beast Titan first sighting, and the attack at the castle all occurred within same time period within matter of days (towards the ending of Season 1 ep 25 there's a short preview that shows this).
