You are right as well, it can "imply" attack titan as well, It can mean attacking titans, the attack titan, attack of the titans, all with the right context. There is intentional ambiguity by the creator Hajime Isayama to keep the audience wondering but this only works in Japanese. "When you know who" says "you know what" the Japanese audience would have thought.... "oh I get the double meaning now" Now if they were sheep lol... and the title was "The attacking sheep" that would work for English speakers because a double meaning can exist with the word "sheep" and we'd be like "aaahhh i get it"... now I'm wishing titans were sheep lol

I thought it directly translated to "Attack Titan" not AoT. But for reasons of not wanting to spoil anything on the attack titan they changed the title. I could be misinformed though

進撃の巨人 (Shingeki no Kyojin) means "Attack on Titan" in English. While the translation is 100% correct, it's meaning in English doesn't quite make sense... this is a common unavoidable case when translating between languages. But yes you are right, its meaning is more like... "Attack of the titans" or "The attacking titans" The reason why it's singular "Attack on Titan" and not "Attack on Titans" is because in Japanese, you don't often use plurals that way. One dog = Ichi Inu (one dog) Two dogs = Ni Inu (two dog)
