Added 2024-08-06 20:05:00 +0000 UTCAuthor’s Note:
UNRELATED NON-BEE ANNOUNCEMENT: Imperial Entanglements, Book 3 of Terminate the Other World!, officially releases today! There...are still no on-screen bees, but there is Seero, so check it out if you're following that story that is conspicuously lacking in bees!
And now back to the story that is not conspicuously lacking in bees!
The Conduit’s…mom?
The hive of hives is not ready for a visit by such an existence. How do they approach someone who raised a hive of Conduits? Someone who knew the King from before he was king? Someone who…
Oh, the Fourth of the Seventh already started talking to her. Um, as expected of the scouting queen?
Anyways!
Can the queen come to comprehend the hive of hives? Can the First of the Fifth figure out how to approach her? Can either of them handle the Fourth of the Seventh? Tune in next time, to find out!
Comments
If anything ever happens to the fourth of the seventh I. Will. Loose. My. Shit.

2024-08-06 22:46:56 +0000 UTCSort of? More like she's never been exposed to those concepts before, so rather than not having the vocabulary for them, she doesn't even know what they are.

2024-08-06 22:01:45 +0000 UTC@phantom maybe the tower would spawn insect size shade in this case ? So that it is still fair ???

2024-08-06 21:27:55 +0000 UTCHonestly, the Meadow queens would probably love the chance for live target practice if that's an option.

2024-08-06 21:17:16 +0000 UTCI didn't even think about the prisoners, do the kurnuq have to guard them from escaping and the infinite waves of the mini shades now to.

2024-08-06 21:12:21 +0000 UTCWe know that the Tower treats humans (and presumably other humanoids like the Karnuq) differently since Belissar couldn't absorb their bodies. Maybe only that category of beings triggers the spawning of shades? *shrug* And maybe the prisoners no longer count as "challengers" though it would be kinda funny/horrifying if getting locked up in a Tower meant constant shade attacks.

2024-08-06 21:10:17 +0000 UTCHey its alright your story has just been so enjoyable that its become a bit of a hyper fixation for me.

2024-08-06 21:04:28 +0000 UTCMake a platform with flying flower. Have bees pull it around.
phantom
2024-08-06 20:50:03 +0000 UTCThe tower is what spawns the shades against those that enter. It would be pretty brutal to summon a shade against non monster insects. Imagine a little ladybug flies into a tower and suddenly it is set to challenge a shade.

2024-08-06 20:45:22 +0000 UTCEntirely possible, sure. My only concern there is that I don't know how it might affect the bees' ability to "dance" their magic out. It very well might not affect it at all, considering the bees already "dance" their communications while flying, just not sure if their magic would work any differently. Not to mention that having a large mount with a dozen wizard bees on it fighting B-52 style has a certain panache to it :D
Morningfrost
2024-08-06 20:45:14 +0000 UTCMounts would be very effective for them, but we do have The honey herbalistic working with the 1st of the 5th on making better honeys, maybe using refined healing honey in a the process of making a healing potion coul dmake something strong enough to regrow their wings?

2024-08-06 20:34:53 +0000 UTCNot sure if others had thought of this before, but reading the early lines about the wyverns made me think of something...Beero and her "wizard bees" need mounts! Instead of being on the wooden board platform, or suspended in nets or however they're currently getting around, they need a bird or something that can speed them in and out of battle, bomber-style. Even something like one of the Bumblebee soldiers could do, considering their size, just something that can transport like a dozen of the wizard bees at a time. Would give them a big increase in mobility and make them more useful for hive defense. Theoretically they could use a wyvern spawner and transport all of them at once lol, but that seems excessive :D
Morningfrost
2024-08-06 20:29:45 +0000 UTC...I definitely didn't totally forget about that. Well, there might be a reason why she's an exception. Or rather, there better be, since the shades don't seem to be spawning lol.

2024-08-06 20:28:01 +0000 UTCTrue true, so she understands but doesn't have as large of a vocabulary
Fernando Oliveira
2024-08-06 20:26:43 +0000 UTCShe doesn't understand the concepts like names or hive of hives. The bees in the tower had somewhere from weeks to months to learn these concepts.
phantom
2024-08-06 20:25:40 +0000 UTCThanks for the chapter! Does the conduits Queen spawn the hunger shades as she is not a part of the tower or does she count as a defender?
Durphymcbob
2024-08-06 20:25:01 +0000 UTCPretty sure she would be overwhelmed by even giving the same amount of supplies other hives get. It'd probably help if they understood that it is rare for ordinary bees to evolve at all.

2024-08-06 20:23:48 +0000 UTCThanks for the chapter. Loved it. Congrats on book 3 for your other non bee series. Lol. Poor queen mother, she's so confused and scared. She's gonna need help settling in, maybe she'll even get another vision from the god of bees. Of course 4th of 7th is the first to start asking queen mother questions. She's gonna overload the poor things mind. Also, does she not understand the other bees? They are dancing so there shouldn't be a language barrier right?
