BD - Chapter 137 - Belissar's Acade-Bee (Removed for KU)

Author’s Note:

PSA: FYI, I’m falling a bit behind on editing manuscripts for the publisher on account of various circumstances in June. As such, there is a nonzero chance I will need to take time off towards the end of July to ensure I meet the deadline. As of now, I do not plan to do so and will do my utmost to maintain our normal posting schedule, but I wanted to inform you all of the possibility in case worst comes to worst. Well, as long as I work like a bee there shouldn’t be a problem, so let’s all hope I’m not some sort of…non-bee.

And now back to the story!

…we’re still talking to non-bees, huh, Belissar? But well, at least we’re talking to the non-bees about bees so I suppose we’ll allow it. Indeed, the non-bees must be instructed on how to make the bees happy, so it is necessary.

Anyways!

Can Belissar and the gardeners fulfill the mission from the God of Flowers? What will Belissar do if conflict comes to the Tower? Can the karnuq learn the art of making bees happy? Tune in next time, to find out!

Yes and no. There's a certain amount relating to dungeon function that goes to the creating god and the main patron regardless (in this case both are the same). Then there's the worship of anyone visiting, whether defender or challenger or whatever. That's a bit more mixed as its based on the person offering supplication and tribute, so as God of Fire alluded to secondary patrons can draw away some of that focus. Yet, the main patron also takes a cut from that as well so it's not a strict negative either...though for Fire and Bee there's a huge imbalance in their current popularity that made that more of a concern. It is, in fact, a little strange for Bee not to team up with Flower but I'll chalk that up to Bee just being territorial in general over her first Tower...and a bit excited.

Hm. Gives new meaning to "Fairy Flowers." But if I see a Bellossom I'm going to lose it.

Bryan

Are secondary patrons taking a cut of the God of Bees authority? Seems odd that Flower and Bee haven't teamed up already. Assuming that Flower has any towers, that is.

Bryan

Good, good.

Can't imagine what it will be though. A fairy of thorns ? A gravity man eating flower that trap it's victim in slime ? a bewitching flower ? There are too many possibilities but it hard to see what type a flower monster would have some synergy with the Bees and could help in the tower defence

nicolas

True, I hadn't accounted for the effects of the fairy Grove. We should spread as many of our plants there as possible. And then Cross pollinate as much as possible. Lol.

Fernando Oliveira

Interresting therories, though for my part, I think that it is more likly that the monster flower will come from the fairy grove and it's wird magic circles. Planting some flowers there, with the garderners in charge and some crosspollination might do the trick :)

Thanks for the chapter. Loved it. So the god of flowers has issues a quest. To breed a monster flower into existence with the help of the bees. Lol, this is gonna be very cool. The options are vast. The gravity flower, the slime flower, the rose bushes, the medicinal and poisonous flowers, add in the Mana flowers and we have a lot of options. Shame we don't have any Venus fly traps or similar but that'd be too easy. If we were to cross the gravity flower with any of the other the results are nearly unpredictable, from size changes, to ranged capabilities, to area affects. The slime flower works as a stationary summoner. If we cross pollinate that we'd probably get new summoners. Honestly I get the feeling that the answer lies in a combination of the Mana flower with the rose bush with some poisonous and gravity pollen sprinkled in. What I'm envisioning as the results are a thorned devils snare, with pretty flowers. Maybe even the capability to shoot said thorns. The karnuq have stone hurts for most of them now. then they probably have or will build a blacksmith soon. We can use the metal to reinforce the bee barracks! And they've started to learn beekeeping, good. A valuable lesson.

Fernando Oliveira

If Belissar ever where to gain such a flower, he probably would. But he's already created bee-only nodes for resources they can use, so that's how he'd likely address it.

Thank for the chapter. I want to ask something related to something in the story from several chapter ago: When Belissar gain/create a Metal Flower, one that use nearby ores/ore nodes for creating "sub-species" (like Iron Flower, Tin Flower, Cooper Flower....), will he re-think of the utility of ore when engaging in trade/negotiation???
