RoD Update (26/5/2022)

Happy Thursday one and all,

Nobody celebrates Thursdays like they should. You've got over Hump Day and you only have today to get through before Friday. Piece of piss, you got this.

Anyway, here's what's going down in Groovestown...

Next week's episode is a review of 'Logopolis'!  Looking forward to getting our heads around Season 18 - it might secretly be genius. And Tom is of course Matt's fave, so seeing him frown his way around a Chris Bidmead script will hopefully provide plenty of fodder! We'll get around to talking about Season 18 more in the future, but we figured we'd go right for the jugular and talk about Four's swansong.

And then we move on to the next few months, which will be tricky for us with regards to staying up to date with the current production in our news segment. Russell has promised that he's done with announcements between now and Jodie's farewell, but do any of us believe that for a second? In any case, with public filming happening, plenty is being leaked and we want to respect people's varying boundaries for spoilers and speculation. As such, we think its best to only deeply discuss official news, but that's not to say we won't be assuming the Rani or Omega will pop up at some point because speculating is fun.

One thing we won't do is report on things we've heard ourselves in private. There are other accounts on YouTube and Twitter which are set up purely to report on "leaks" and other such things and it's not in our interests to start dropping info-dumps on what may or may not be happening in Who's future. Most of the things we know about upcoming plans have been told to us in confidence, so to break that trust is one thing. To spread it around on the internet is another. Some listeners have said they've felt alienated by our in-jokes or "insider" references to the production and that's not fair, so we'll only be talking about things officially confirmed by Auntie.

So, 'Logopolis' next. Then we'll be wrangling our next interview which will hopefully be Ep28. If that goes ahead, you can expect the next couple of months to look something like this...

IF we can get our shit together Ep33 could be a big one. Big.
