RoD Update! (18/10/2021)

It’s the start of a new week so here’s what’s been happening in the world of RoD.
- Firstly, WOWOWOW WHAT A TRAILER EH? Matt and I will break it down on next Monday’s episode (Ep6. ‘Vincent and the Doctor’/‘The Rings of Akhaten’) but man, we’re both super hyped for it. Matt especially, he really wasn’t feeling the buzz for Flux, but he’s been caught hook, line and sinker. 😅
- We’re aiming to record some gameplay for Doctor Who: The Edge of Reality this week (our review copy arrived too late for us to double-bank the interview with some demo’ing). Hope you enjoyed the chat with Gavin and Richard, both top blokes - about 30% of that episode’s content was recorded after we did our sign-off, but we kept nattering away for another half an hour! Matt did a fantastic job editing it together to make it seem like one long convo - I think it might be my current favourite ep of RoD. Shame the YouTube views don’t match my admiration for Matt’s clipping and cutting but ah well.
- RoD LIVE! All very tentative as I have a few things to move around in my calendar but we’re going to be back at Bristol’s Future Inn hotel from 12th - 14th November for Fantom Events’ Pandorica 2021 convention. Last time (back in 2019 😬) we reviewed The Trial of a Time Lord. Not sure what we’ll discuss this time, but we’ll record it and make it available as a special episode of the podcast (we may even sneak some interviews in if we can! Already buzzing to reunite with a certain Miss Grant…).
- NEW MERCH. You guys have heard of “the long way round” on Twitter right? @GingellSamuel? Well, I’m buzzing to announce we’re working on a Halloween collab! The drafts and WIP shots they’re sending me are crazy cool. Can’t wait for you to all see the finished article. It’s very influenced by The Cramps/psychobilly/grunge band/tour t-shirts and I think it’s going to be a total knock out.
That’s the long and short of it friends. We’ll arrange to do another Discord townhall this week too (my other half is taking her chance and is jetting off to Ibiza for a few days so I’ve got plenty of time to eat junk food, play FIFA and chat Who with everyone 😂).
