Whatever Tally feels for her dragon partner, she knows it isn't love. Love is a thing from those little novels read by fancy ladies on the upper streets, to give them something to do between parties. Love is a thing from the cheap little plays put on in the public garden, to swindle coin from working people who want to believe in something better. Love isn't something that follows you home from a delivery and announces it's going to stay.

Still, it's hard to say it hasn't been nice having Blaze around. The apartment is unbelievably cramped, but it's a welcome change to have someone besides the bugs to talk to. The Guild is complaining that she should be paying double dues, but with a dragon carrying her around she's making so much that she could afford it. He might get tired of her grubby little life and leave at any moment, but everry day he's around things get a little brighter.

And that tongue. Sweet Titans, that tongue.
