2019-02-15 18:33:46 +0000 UTCthank you so much!! i was thinking about making this the print of the month here on patreon! this is also likely an original ill sell in the future, and ill get a large full color print made to go with it. im so glad you enjoy this though, its one of my favorite stories from childhood too. i cant remember the name of the book but there was a collection of childrens stories that had rikki tikki tavi in it and i loved the artwork (you can see the inspiration from it in this piece)

I hope to god you make prints of these someday because I would be all over the splash page one. Your style already invokes such a deep sense of nostalgia for me and seeing one of my favorite childhood stories brought to life in it is so unbelievably wonderful

2019-02-15 18:08:24 +0000 UTCthanks!! im aware of the distinction between the glottis and the tongue, but from this angle itd probably be difficult to see that ive distinguished them, as the tongue is located very close to it. but yeah, this was super fun to draw! ive definitely always wanted to draw them

2019-02-15 17:46:35 +0000 UTCLovely work! My only quibble is that you seem to have Nag's tongue coming out of his windpipe. I think the layout is really nice, and it's fun how Nag, Rikki, and the vines are all made of the same looping, ropey forms, with the focus nailed to their opposing faces. I like how you included the fighting song in the title. This would be a really eye-catching, dramatic splash page!
