This is Vagus' ultimatum, either he becomes the monstrous and murderous war machine and be accepted by his parents. Or he lives in peace as a normal mon and be disowned and rejected by his parents. It would've been an ultimatum had fate been kinder (although either way, it sucks for him) and he wasn't forced into the situation where he needed to act to save the lives of many in Blossom Village.
