He's far from caring. I genuinely think that Vagus wants to get this righteous anger out of his system and simultaneously show his father and mother that they don't own him anymore. That he'd rather die even by their own hands than change who he has now become. He's also trying to do this for the Pokemon he's grown to love (Leon) because neither he, nor Vagus himself will feel safe or comfortable being together with Divina and Gaius' continuous abuse of him and his brother. He wants to finally break the cyclical chain of of abuse and become the unshackled, truly amazing warrior that he was always meant to be, even if he never wanted to be. I love that about his character because although he hates fighting, when he does get angry and does decide to fight, it is almost always for the right reasons and never goes beyond it. 😊

I will say though, despite this not being a good idea, I am proud of Vagus for actually standing up for himself and truly showing just how brave he really is. I'm pretty sure he knows that he won't win any argument or duel against his father Gaius, but he does not care. He just wants to prove that his parents don't own him or his destiny any longer.
