The Internship Chapter 4

I saved and printed out the email. I sent a reply confirming my acceptance, thanking Ms Langford.

The week after I replied to the email I got an envelope from the Seirens Group. It contained everything I needed to bring with me, birth certificate, passport, social security card, and driver's license. There were two cards in the envelope.

The first card was a temporary security card to get through the gate. The second card was a credit card. The instructions specifically stated where I could use it and what to use it for.

The instructions looked like a form letter.

This card covers all travel expenses including food and lodging, new casual clothes and shoes, and new fitness shoes (if needed). Salon services, conservative makeup (if needed), no more than $500 on non-travel expenses. Any overage will be deducted from your first paycheck.

Receiving that envelope felt like Christmas!

The next two weeks went by very fast! I put in my notice with Kerri the next morning. I called my parents the evening after I got the email. My mind was spinning with joy. I started packing up my Tahoe almost immediately after I received the email.

During my last week of work, Kerri and Jan from the coffee shop started picking through my things. What are you going to do with all these old things? Jan asked. By "things," she meant my old male college clothes. You most certainly can't wear them anymore! She said.

I'm keeping my concert and college shirts and my shoes, I said firmly. What do you mean, Jan?

Your old boy clothes! Jan said. They don't fit with your updated Metro style.

She's right, Jackie! Kerri said. Modern men like yourself don't wear clothes like this. They are far too grungy for you.

I thought about it for a minute. They weren't teasing me, but they were right.

What do you suggest? I asked.

A trip to the mall for starters! Jan said. My ex-boyfriend wouldn't be caught dead in these things! If he were caught, I'd kill him! We laughed together.

She's right Jackie! You need some colors! Unless you decide to go gothic! Kerri said.

I stuck out my pierced tongue at them playfully!

Ohh! That's hot! Jan said I love your ears and nose too! I wish more men would pierce their tongues and noses. A man with a tongue stud is very hot!

I made him get it two weeks ago! Kerri said.

Just like ours! Jan said.

They both stuck their tongues out at me. We giggled! That was new! Giggling. I brushed off the thought. We had work to do. But we had fun doing it. Except for my nightstand, a couple of lamps, and pictures, I left everything else. Kerri and the girls at the coffee shop were going to pick through my furniture the day before I left.

My Tahoe was packed just below the rear window all the way back to the front seats. I reserved my passenger front seat for my clothes and supplies for the trip.

The girls and I cleaned up and headed to the mall one last time. We started at Target first. I ended up getting three hip packs (or hip purses) in black, gray, and bright blue. I bought them with my money. I also got two leather backpacks, a purse, and a wallet combination in black and red. At Kohl's department store. The girls helped me buy. Girl biker shorts (the men's shorts didn't fit) size 4, if you can believe it.

We couldn't find anything in the men's department that fit right, or tight enough to get Kerri's or Jan's approval. I ended up with 3 pairs of women's Levi's low-waist T-bar skinny jeans and 4 women's T-shirts in black, bright blue, white, and purple. They wanted me to get the pink and yellow, but I said No, thanks.

At the shoe store is where things got interesting. I was sized up with a woman's shoe sizer, size 9. I bought workout sneakers, white with light blue accents. Casual sneakers, black with light blue accents. A pair of flat black leather strap sandals, a pair of 3-inch wedge sandals, and a pair of black 3-inch spike heels. I used the Seirens card.

Isn't this a bit too feminine? I asked.

Not at all! Look! Jan pointed outside the shoe store and three guys were walking around in fitted slacks and spike heels. They were as casual and comfortable as could be! I noticed their ears were pierced twice. One guy had three in each ear. I was actually feeling a little jealous!

The girls must have noticed my silent approval.

We need to get our nails done! Kerri said.

You're right! Jan said. And you need your nails filled and shaped, Jackie!

Filled? I asked.

Yes, that gap between your gel on your nails and your cuticle! Plus you should get them shaped! Jan exclaimed.

I'm afraid she's right again! Kerri said.

Ohh boy! I thought to myself. What am I doing? The problem I was having was that I enjoyed it, all of it. What was worse, I looked really good, almost pretty, in a unisex sorta way! I did look fashionable!

At the nail salon, I had my gel filled in, and my now longer nails weren't trimmed back; they were oval-shaped, and a new French manicure was applied. Jan had them add rhinestones to my ring fingers.

My treat! She said For all the times you bailed me out at work and for being a good friend! I'm going to miss you, Jackie! She kissed my cheek. I always wanted to ask Jan out, but she always had a boyfriend. Plus I valued her friendship.

Jackie, when was the last time you had a haircut? Kerri asked.

Eight maybe nine weeks ago! Why?

Girlfriend! You need a new style for that mop on your head!

Girlfriend? I asked.

Relax Jackie! It's just a term of endearment! Jan said.

You would look so sexy in a long pixie hairstyle! You'd still be able to show off those beautiful ears!

He should really get a third lobe piercing! Jan said.

I'm good! I said but thanks.

We arrived at the salon. I had to wait 20 minutes.

I have an idea! Kerri said.

What do you have in mind? Jan asked. He needs to change his clothes.

What's wrong with what I have on? I asked. Nothing but it won't suit your new hairstyle. Kerri said.

Jan and Kerri started digging through my shopping bags.

I was handed the wedge sandals, a pair of skinny jeans, and a blue T-shirt. Hurry back! They said. I went to the restroom in the salon to change. I put on the clothes. I left my white Cami on under the shirt. I caught a glimpse of my boy's short panties in the mirror. It made me smile.

I put on the sandals and was instantly 3 inches taller. My butt was more noticeable than before. I loved the way it stood out. It was in the full-length bathroom mirror that I noticed my newly trimmed and slightly curved body. I really liked what I saw.

I freshened my foundation, eyeliner, and matte lipstick. I went back to the waiting area.

Kerri and Jan smiled.

He needs a dangling jewel for his belly button! Jan said.

I agree! Kerri said. After we're done here! Kerri said.

Do I get a vote? I asked sarcastically.

No, not really! Jan said.

I giggled with them. I almost sounded like a girl.

I was taken aback. My hair was washed and conditioned, not that it needed it. The stylist followed Kerri's idea to the letter. She waxed and arched my eyebrows. That hurt! But I didn't make a sound.

My hair was cut and styled in long pixie style with a fringe look to it. I loved it. I still looked like a guy, kinda! But it fit my current style so much better. I used the Seirens charge card again.

With my naval fully exposed now, Kerri and Jan dragged me back to the tattoo studio to swap out my tongue stud and my belly button jewelry.

Like before, I wasn't asked. They just started doing it! My naval jewelry ended up being the most feminine thing they had. A long curved gold barbell with cubic Zirconia stones on each end and a 2 1/2 inch chain with three cubic Zirconia stones starting from large to small. My tongue stud was swapped out for a much shorter one.

His ears need a third stud!

The piercer said. I'll do the piercings for the cost of the piercings only. If you want them? She offered that she was looking at Kerri.

Uhh! I said.

Do it! Kerri said.

Definitely! Jan added

I was definitely a pierced person now! I was up to nine piercings! 6 weeks ago I had zero, then 7, now 9. I didn't hate being pierced! Truth is the pain was kind of a rush!

When we walked out of the studio I could feel my new naval jewelry with every movement. It took a little while to get used to it! I feel the cool air in the mail across my stomach. I had a two-inch gap between my jeans and the bottom of my T-shirt.

He needs his lower back tattooed! Jan said playfully.

No! No way! I said.

Relax Jackie! She was just teasing you! Right, Jan?

Kinda! It would look really sexy! Something similar to mine! She turned around and showed me hers.

That is very sexy but I'm not ready for anything like that! Maybe someday, but not right now. I said

Fair enough! Jan said. But if you want some ink, I know a girl! She is awesome too!

I'm good for now, but thanks anyway. I said.

We stopped at the Macaroni Grill for dinner. I bought the girls dinner for helping me. We went back to my place. Jan and Kerri came upstairs with me. They wanted to help me organize my clothes I'd be wearing for my road trip. They even organized a makeup bag for me.

I knew they were a little out of control. But I was having so much fun I just went with it! I started copying the way they talked and moved. It was becoming second nature to try to act like them. If they noticed, they didn't say anything. I just felt right to do it.

I wasn't thinking about what they would find in my dresser, but by then it was too late!

What is this! Jan exclaimed.

She pulled out my light blue babydoll nightie.

These are very nice too! Kerri found my pajamas!

Wait a second! You don't have any briefs or boxers either! Jan said. Are these sports bras?

I was caught! Red-handed! Nowhere to hide! I blushed a deep red! I could feel the heat on my own face. What could I say? I owned it!

Yes, it's all true! I threw out all my briefs for panties, and the nightwear is mine. I sleep like a baby in them! They are so cool and comfortable! I said.

And the sports bras? Kerri asked. I wear them when I do my workout videos. I hate the baggy shirts in my face. They feel nice too! I said.

What's going on Jackie? Kerri asked

I don't know really! When I was in LA I stayed at the Biltmore. They had everything, complimentary drycleaning, fresh satin pajamas every night, the best skincare and hair care products I ever used. I hardly have to shave anymore!

My body hair is almost completely gone! The briefs and regular T-shirts I used to wear felt abrasive and hot. I love satin. that's why I wear Cami's under my shirts!

Wait a sec! You don't have any body hair! Anywhere? Jan asked in disbelief.

Not hardly a hair or barely a whisker anymore! I said proudly.

Ohh! I have to see this! Jan said.

I kinda believe it! His permanent five o'clock shadow is completely gone! Kerri said. I love a guy with a silky smooth complexion! Kerri added.

Let me see! Jan said.

Come on Jackie! Kerri said you don't have anything we haven't seen before!

I was a bit scared, but I tried calling their bluff. I failed.

Are you sure about this? You might get more than bargained for! I said.

Strip Jackie! Jan demanded . I want the full montey!

I stood in my bedroom taking off my clothes.

Move a little! I want a show! Kerri said.

I started turning around slowly, I shook my hips side to side a little. I pealed off my T-shirt slowly reveling my satin Cami top. I twirled the T-shirt and threw it on the bed. I kicked off my sandals and slowly peaked off my skinny jeans. I twirled them on to the bed too.

I continued to dance and pealed off my Cami exposing my semi hard nipples.

Mama wants a show! Kerri exclaimed.

I turned around away from them, bent over and dropped my boy shorts.

Before any of us realized it we were partying like I always dreamed of but never thought possible. Our bodies melded together in ways I never knew could be!

I checked off a few more boxes on my bucket list. It's too bad I was leaving in a few days!
