Specificity vs Near-Fantasy

As you may have noticed, some details about the world in which Harem House takes place have been intentionally vague. My idea was to keep it close to reality while making it vague enough to be relatable. The University, while fictional, is never explicitly named. The same is true of the town, the city, etc.

The idea at the time was to let it be any town, any school, etc.

As the series progresses more details are  filling in, and as I work on the wiki for this world, I've come to a decision point.

Should I maintain the vague nearly fantasy style of calling it The Town, The University, The City, etc. Or, should I make a choice as to where expressly these things are in our real world and make fictional versions of them.

Let me know your thoughts.

I agree with most of the other commenters. Additionally, I think any advantage gained by specifying a setting is probably offset by the extra time and energy needed to retroactively add it in (at some point, I assume).

I don't think any specific real place needs to be named, then sticking to it can be hard but have a region in mind to keep consistent. Mondel on something? Is it driving , is there public, when you talk about October what does that really mean like FL v Ohio will there be snow, are the leaves going to change. As the story grows details are going to need to grow too
