So I'm from Israel. Go ahead, boo. I probably deserve it for something. Seriously though, the issue I had with those reactions is that people are not their government, and assuming that every Israeli is a Zionist genocidal maniac just because they're from Israel is extremely reductive. I am more than my government's war crimes. Context can matter - and these two Coldplay fans were not making a political statement by being from Israel. So if someone in your audience is from Israel - you can ask them about their relationships with their parents or musical theatre just as well. Or see where they stand before making a judgement call.
