I'm that thoughtless I once dumped a guy on Valentine's day... moments after he'd told me his mother just died (I kind of had my heart set on it). Inexplicably, I end up with people who make phenomenally thoughtful gestures and I'm like, FFS now I have to pretend I care too.

We’d been considering finding a bigger space but thought this might be a nice way to save some money together. I live in a rural area, but I imagine as New Yorkers y’all might have some good tips on living with people in small spaces. I’d love any advice about living with a partner in general but especially about living together in a small place (and with a dog!)! I’ve never lived with a partner before… I’m excited and nervous!

She’s been my Valentine every year and I plan to celebrate accordingly this year by playing the remasters of Tomb Raider 1-3 I already pre-ordered! #NotSponsored

2024-02-01 14:35:09 +0000 UTCThis might be a controversial or even dumb take, but "This Has Gotta Stop" - Flowers. For Valentine's Day, Or an Anniversary? The reaction is "Aw, so sweet," and then they die within days and then that's that. An event like a concert, candy and food, restaurants, even jewelry is special because it's something that has real value for a person, or the memory remains. Who remembers flowers? The only time flowers make sense to me is for a funeral, because it adds some aesthetic value for the relatives. I know this is irrational, but please I'd like to hear if flowers, roses, etc are overrated.
