#174 I’m Gonna Die with Jo Firestone

Jo Firestone (comedian and author of Murder on Sex Island) joins us to share the downsides of puns, writing food jokes, why she isn’t built for life on the road, dissecting the sadness of reality tv shows, Wikipedia-ing the end of scary movies, and self-publishing a book. We’re also joined by guest co-host and The Downside’s theme music composer, Douglas Goodhart.

Loved the '90s cartoon discussion. So many throwbacks. My sisters and I watched Rocko's Modern Life, and I wouldn't be able to tell you what the plot was, but we still reference "Yeah, Melba!" and the R-E-C-Y-C-L-E song and "You can't fight city hall." Those Nickelodeon shows were interesting. Also, I love Douglas but no to his "This has gotta stop". If anything's gotta stop, it's celebrity worship. I don't even know about the Lauryn Hill drama but I disagree with the take.
