Patreon and Sales Tax
Added 2020-05-31 16:08:04 +0000 UTCHey everybody~ ^u^ This is a lame post~! I just need to let you all know about a change to Patreon's rules:
Starting in June, Patreon is gonna start adding sales tax to some transactions. It depends a lot on where you live, and how Patreon chooses to interpret my content offering~ >3< So it's hard to know whether or not it will affect you. I will let you all know if I can figure out more, but I've included a link that hopefully covers most of it~ I'll try to answer any additional question you guys have~! >3<

I got an email from patreon explaining that starting in July, they're required by law to tack on a sales tax for certain patreon users depending on what benefits they provide. They said it would be as much as $.50 for a $5 pledge. So, I'm good to keep going.

2020-05-31 16:24:53 +0000 UTCUs Europeans have been paying a blanket sales tax on all Patreon pledges for years. It might be nice if they start evaluating Patreons so the ones that shouldn't be taxed don't get taxed though.
