Pip - Concept Art

Currently I'm going through a time where I'm picking up alot of the artistic slack I left at the beginning of the month. I've gone through alot of home life change, and love life junk, and now that it's kind of settled, I just started churning out some pieces over the last couple days!

One of them is a cute character concept! This is Pip, a squirrel, whom I'm not 100% I'm committing to much at the moment, but here's a couple of things about them!

They're a slimy boy! That red inner goopiness is their sweet center. It's a candy like goo that in cold weather hardens into a solid but chewy substance (almost like soft taffy!) and in hot weather melts into a goopy (and in hotter climates, even drippy!) slime that can assimilate anything into it.

What I'm not so sure about is that "chocolate" outer casing. I wasn't sure if I wanted to go full candy character or furry slime character, but I'm leaning towards candy character. I think it's a neat idea that, even if it doesn't work in situations with other real characters, is pretty fun nontheless to draw pictures with friends in or such. -v-

Their mouth isn't visible until they open it, and they can't exactly absorb things very easily if the candy is hardened on the outside, and instead have to eat it through the mouth. If the candy is hardened on the outside, the candy on the inside is still ooey gooey, so assimilation is still possible c:

I also had another idea that if the outer shell is a chocolate, then all that extra sweet slime from meals could be used as pure sugar to add to the chocolate around it, thus making them... "Thicker" |3

Let me know if you like slimy stuff or if you have specific ideas with the character! I'm trying so hard to get the slime to look right... I'm doing my best to touch on alot of bases at the moment, with bellies, slimes, body types and the such. I want to really expand my reach -v-
