A top-to-bottom (and top and bottom) evangelical evisceration from Devon, and it's the exact other end of the spectrum from Lacey while *also* being one of my favorite things you've ever written. This was hot (all of the weaponized flirty innocence), clever (methodical deconstruction of an entire support system via hypocrisy), and *fucking hilarious* (the Helen stuff ALONE). I cannot believe you've leveraged a religious upbringing to write such a scathing, ruthless takedown of jokey youth pastors, would-be-saint shopkeepers, prissy self-denying teenagers, and power-abusing church leaders. Shit, even the *Roomba* ends up looking like an asshole. Absolutely brilliant in its Scorched Earth commentary. I'm in awe!
