2025-04-07 01:32:27 +0000 UTCThat line at the end where she says the person she feels the most sorry towards is gwan sik as they zoom in on his permanently disfigured finger and him limping always hits me because deep sea fishing in those times was one of the most dangerous and physically tasking jobs.. people lost their lives, lost their hands and fingers on the nets, etc. and on top of that basically had to work from like 4AM every single day.. and then on top of that for him to have been also dealing with physical and verbal abuse for that long? And he was hiding it so his family wouldnt worry about him😭 What makes it even worse is knowing he didnt even have a choice since that man he was working for has influence over all the boats on the island so gwan sik didnt walk away from the job because he couldnt get on any boat without going through that guy…
