I'm not sure if it's mostly just an Asian thing but, yes, food is everything. Aside from the common nurture significance it's symbolic for a healthy relationship. Remember 'the family that eats together, stays together'. And thank you for being comfortable with sharing about your family's situations and history, as you always do. This drama in particular revolves around the 'unusual' family setup so, though I could emphatize and undertsand them, especially with such good writing and acting, it still sometimes a bit difficult to relate to. Like watching Sanha's mom, my mind always tell me that she's too much and there's no way someone would be like that. But I hear stories like yours and it just breaks my heart to learn that it could happen in real life.
