2024-06-01 17:40:43 +0000 UTCSome of the dramas that have shaken me and genuinely made me sad for awhile are Mr. Sunshine, My Mister, Snowdrop, and Skycastle. They are next level storytelling, but made me question if I really wanted to risk watching another K-drama. I definitely rank them as great, but they are a gut punch. This isn’t any different and I don’t know if it’s because I’ve linked the characters, even in a fictional world, to the members of BTS. This series is so dark, but the actors amazed me. I had to binge watch because I was so invested. I wonder if I could write Jimin and tell him that I need one of his hugs if he could send it international delivery. Thank you for reacting to this!! When I was baby army, I came across some of this BU info as I was learning actual BTS history. For a long time, I thought Jin was from a chaebol family, and jhope’s mom abandoned him. When I saw the birthday where jhope cries so much, I thought his dad must have remarried. Then I heard the song, Mama, and thought, “okay, I guess he forgave her. 🤷♀️” 😂

2024-05-30 14:33:28 +0000 UTCI’m watching this show along with you, but honestly my interpretation of the scene with Jeha’s stepdad and his “real” son etc. I didn’t see him as him trying to act like he doesn’t show favouritism in front of Hwan(namjoon’s character) but rather very clear that the dad has major anger issues and is just an abusive dad. It seemed that the biological son was genuinely scared of him too when they were both getting yelled at. So I think that is something he does to both of them. No doubt that he probably shows favouritism to his biological son in certain things but I think had Jeha been the one to had originally said his stepbrother was the one seen going into the master bedroom multiple times, the dad would have done the same thing.

But honestly I wasn’t expecting to see it played out on screen like this to affect me the way it did! And as far as not remembering stuff, you have to keep in mind that the creators of this show used the BU as a guideline. They definitely fleshed out some of the storylines and changed pieces or added elements. I personally think the little changes they made in the story lines make it that much more impactful. And painful 😅 I am SUPER excited that this is soon to be a weekly thing. I can’t wait to see y’all’s reactions to the upcoming episodes. Shit gets wild.
