2024-03-10 14:44:47 +0000 UTCThe hospital girl (god) is a teenager, but obviously since she's lived plenty of lifetimes, she feels a lot older than her physical body actually is. They explained it in episode 2, that she comes to earth and gets born as a sick person, then dies and gets reborn as a sick person again - over and over, as payment for humanity. (I also love the fact, that in this show, they say that god only exists because humans believe in her, not the other way around. Usually in religions it's god that exists first and who creates humans - I like that this plays with the thought that god might exist simply because humans believe god exists. I'm personally not religious, so I don't necessarily believe that god exists, but I believe in the possibility that he does exist and I've always had the thought, that the concept of god kind of has to have some reality in it, simply because of the people believing in it - that belief alone makes it real on some level, so this show is very much playing with believes and thoughts that I've had for a while, which is a lot of fun) Also, I think you may have a very small misconception about Doom. He was never human, he was created as Doom and has always had the function of bringing doom - that isn't something that he became later. But he wasn't always as unfeeling as he is now - the pain of only bringing doom and having to constantly hear all of the bad things and thoughts that are in the world were too much for him. In episode 2 he reveals that every single action he does, brings doom somewhere - but he also reveals that he has actually tried to stop that before. He locked himself away and did nothing, in the hopes that it would end the doom, but it made the world even worse. And at the end of episode 3 he says "I don't eat, sleep or cry. I don't know empathy or love. Things like that don't exist in me. That was what I decided long ago" - emphasis on "decided". So, judging from this, he technically can do all these things (and we've even seen him cry and eat before), but he's trying to suppress all of that, because it would just be too painful for him. (Also note how he always phrases it the same way, it's like a mantra. He's not only saying these words to her, he's most of all saying them too himself) So sorry for the rant, I always tell myself to be concise, but still end up with way too much hahah. I don't have any friends who have watched this show (or K-Dramas in generel), so I'm just a little excited that I get to talk about it here. I'm really enjoying the re-watch with you, it's nice to hear someone elses perspective on things and you definitely bring up points, that I myself havent really thought about yet! EDIT: Oh, btw, don't forget that Doom CAN'T hear Dong-kyung's thoughts! He can hear everyone elses, but thanks to the deal that they've made, he can't hear hers (he told her about that in episode 1)

2024-03-10 07:11:40 +0000 UTCI think Lee Soo Hyuk (2nd ML) can definitely act he isnt like noted to be amazing but its just that hes originally a model so he has this stern resting look to him probably from his model days. Maybe that is what is throwing you off about his acting/him being robotic(I think its also just the character hes playing). Also yes the girl(god being) is meant to be around high school age. Anyways loving the reactions, I forgot the show starts slow but its picking up now and I love it.
