2025-10-17 16:36:34 +0000 UTCOther people have already commented about it, but the two guys in the beginning of Ep. 24 were Robin Williams and Billy Crystal, two very famous actors at the time (you can tell by the huge crowd reaction they got.) Fun fact: One of Robin Williams' last roles was a short-lived sitcom with Sarah Michelle Gellar called The Crazy Ones.

The whole friends making a pact to become partners if they aren't married by a certain age was not an unusual trope in movies/shows of the 80s and 90s. Also, when Monica laughed about Chandler suggesting it, Chandler becomes serious about it not so much because he was serious with his suggestion, but because it bruised his ego that she didn't see him as boyfriend material. He would have had that same reaction with Rachel or Phoebe.

I was mostly on Rachel’s side with the breakup, but here she has worked to sabotage another one of Ross’ relationships (the first being Julie). They are that classic will they/won’t they couple who you can’t help but root for, but also might be better off not together… Everybody has their own opinions. Pete is a nice guy, but I almost wonder if, in a way, he saw Monica as a challenge for him to achieve. He set his sights on her and pursued her until she liked him back. Took her to Italy, bought a restaurant for her, told her he had met someone else so that she would end up working for him, took a chance and kissed her when she was telling him the attraction wasn’t mutual. Obviously it ended up working out well for him. Not to say that he didn’t care about her, I think he really did. And Monica ended up really caring about him also. He’s the type of guy that once he sets his mind on something he is laser focused on achieving that one thing. Not bad necessarily, but I think Monica realized that his life might be too intense for her. I can’t wait for you to start S4! It’s one of my favorite seasons!

I feel like its important to tell you lol And in the extended version of one of these, Ross makes a remark to Chandler about his beard, basically like why he still has it

Also, I think Monica's reaction was pretty normal for a lifelong close friend springing a hypothetical relationship on you out of nowhere, especially someone like Chandler who's hardly ever serious about anything.

Even though you didn't recognize him here, you HAVE seen him in a movie before. He played Miracle Max in The Princess Bride.

He’s one of my favorites of all time. He passed away in 2014. I recommend several of his movies: Mrs. Doubtfire Good Will Hunting Jumanji (1995) Aladdin (1992) Dead Poets Society The guy with him that you didn’t recognize is a comedian and actor too. Billy Crystal. He and Robin were close friends. My favorite movie of his is Pixar’s Monsters Inc, and When Harry Met Sally. The actress who plays Bonnie is Christine Taylor. She’s married to Ben Stiller (Rachel’s screaming date in ep.22). Glad you’re feeling better btw!
