The music while Ross danced with Chloe was the same he asked from the radio while Rachel broke up with him because of the list. :(

She probably didn't have any other choice than just trying to push trough and had to urge to show that she is capable to do her job even in tough situation. Rachel was creating herself a career, something her own so Ross blaming her was just uncalled.

On their first date he had a bunch of work at the museum and he brought her with him and tried to hurry it up. Then he salvaged the night when he was done and still made it romantic. And that was just a first date, not an anniversary.

2025-09-12 00:01:15 +0000 UTCi dont hate Ross for this whole break thing as much as other ppl do, but he fucked up royally. She said we need a break. I dont get why ppl think tahts a break up. It just sounds like its a free pass to cheat knowing full well 'we need a break' doesnt mean 'we should break up' or 'im breaking up with you'. They sound similar but any person with a brain can know the difference. Granted , Ross was furious and emotional so what he heard could have been clouded. But at the same time, the following day he was trying to dance around Rachel's 'break' talk with arguments based on logic and making it seem like she was the unreasonable one when its pretty clear his back was against he wall and just saying whatever he could. The big big thing I think Rachel did that was fucked up was allowing Mark to come over and not atking no for an answer. Like come ON! think of the optics, and how your boyfriend would feel learning or seeing that. She didn't do anything with him but to do that in the same night as when you just told your partner you want a break? thats fucked up. but then Ross was emotional and angry and just wanted to one up her since he thought she had moved on so quickly....and then being caught lying about it and not saying what happened and having Rachel find out through her coworker. Ya, lets see any fucking guy out there give a girl grace on that one.

2025-08-31 17:43:24 +0000 UTCRegardless of whether it was infidelity or not, Ross disrespected Rachel and everything they had by having sex with someone else less than 5 seconds after they broke up. Unfortunately, Ross and Rachel had a major case of miscommunication. I wouldn't want them to end this way, but I think it was for the best. Ross and Rachel don't have the same priorities, so I think it will be good for Rachel to grow more independent and focus on her work. I think Ross needs time too, to learn to listen and understand his partners better, especially Rachel. Because let's be honest, Ross is a true "drama queen." He tries not to be, but he ends up being one, because sometimes things are simple: you sit, you listen, and you communicate with your partner, and if you have doubts about a certain thing, you ask. But Ross sabotages these things by "not causing drama" and ends up causing drama. π I liked the bedroom scenes; I think they helped balance the mood of the episode.

2025-08-31 17:42:10 +0000 UTCI'm team Ross all the way lol Ross technically did not cheat, Ross wanted to continue to talk about it but Rachel wanted that break, Rachel gave up on that relationship, allowing mark over is a big No-No knowing how Ross feels about him, and sometimes it doesn't make sense why Rachel was so heartbroken after Ross slept with that other woman because when she wanted that break it seemed like she already had mentally and emotionally checked out of that relationship she cared more about her job than Ross, I don't blame Ross one bit, P.S. Marc is a weasel! π

2025-08-31 10:48:46 +0000 UTCThe saddest but possibly the most iconic episodes. There's a line from this arc that you're going to keep hearing until the end of time. What Ross did is pretty unforgivable, but I think with time, Chandler and Joey will move on from him ruining their threesome. Seriously though, people always debate if Ross cheated or not. I think whether or not Ross cheated and whether or not he's in the right are two completely conversations. If my girlfriend said to me the exact words in the exact way that Rachel said them to Ross, I would also think we're broken up. He made a snappy judgment when he heard Mark on the phone while already in a really emotional state, and then he drank a lot with a broken heart and someone threw herself at him while he's under the impression that he's been dumped and that maybe Rachel's hooking up with the guy he's suspected all along of trying to get with her. But even if he didn't cheat, when he's actively hiding the other woman, plans on never telling Rachel about it ever (Chandler and Joey giving crap advice as usual, but it's on Ross whether he listens or not), and actually makes the rounds to try to make sure everyone stays quiet about it, he's clearly in the wrong and as much as it sucks, Rachel did exactly what his level of disrespect deserved. Even sleeping with someone else period is something I wouldn't be able to look past. Also I appreciate how the rest of the FRIENDS added levity to how depressing the apartment conversation at the end was.

The scenes with Ross and Rachel are so real and gutting, and then the side plots are so funny, they're such well-balanced episodes. I think it's funny - I was a kid when Friends was originally airing, and I recall thinking that Rachel should forgive Ross because she had asked for the breakup, but that was before I had ever been in love or in a relationship myself. Once I got older and rewatched, and was able to truly empathize, I completely agreed with Rachel's decision. It's so devastating to see Ross make such a hurtful mistake. I cry every time I see this episode, but still think it's one of the best Friends episodes ever.
