In the books, its hidden under a rug so Katniss doesn't even see it but Peeta tells her about it after the fact. I do like that in this movie Katniss sees his painting and we see her reaction so I really like that they changed it for the movie. Not to say that I hate what the book did, the books are amazing and perfect lol

2025-08-16 18:00:50 +0000 UTCThe reason why the love triangle trope works so well in this series is because the emphasis is not on the love story and Gale and Peeta both represent different sides to Katniss (Gale = rebellious defiance Peeta=Empathy Neogation ) Katniss needs both at different times which creates the 'love triangle'

2025-08-16 09:57:27 +0000 UTCin regards to the background of the other victors, an upcoming movie set to be released in 2026 titled "Sunrise on the Reaping" (based on the 2025 novel of the same name) is likely to touch on that information, so hopefully no one spoils in the comments! The Hunger Games universe includes the trilogy revolving around Katniss's story (The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mockingjay pt1 & 2), as well as two prequels that revolve around some familiar characters and their stories (The Ballard of Songbirds and Snakes, and Sunrise on the Reaping).

The 25th Hunger Games had the participants chosen by voting instead of it being random. The 50th Hunger Games had double the amount of participants and it also happened to be the Games that Haymitch won (soon to be the 6th Hunger Games movie coming out next year).

'"No one really needs me," he says, and there's no self-pity in his voice. It's true his family doesn't need him. They will mourn him, as will a handful of friends. But they will get on. Even Haymitch, with the help of a lot of white liquor, will get on. I realize only one person will be damaged beyond repair if Peeta dies. Me. "I do," I say... So before he can talk, I stop his lips with a kiss. I feel that thing again. The thing I only felt once before. In the cave last year when I was trying to get Haymitch to send us food. I kissed Peeta about a thousand times during those Games and after. But there was only one kiss that made me feel something stir deep inside. Only one that made me want more. But my head wound started bleeding, and he made me lie down. This time, there is nothing but us to interrupt us. And after a few attempts, Peeta gives up talking. The sensation inside me grows warmer and spreads out from my chest, down through my body, out along my arms and legs, to the tips of my being. Instead of satisfying me, the kisses have the opposite effect, of making my need greater. I thought I was something of an expert on hunger, but this is an entirely new kind.'
